Let's see your old slot cars! I had these AFX slot cars when I was a kid in the mid 1970's. I always thought the styling was cool. Big and littles with a nice rake! The maroon and yellow roadsters are both '32's I take my old Tyco AFX track out and run them every few years or so... The artwork on the box is great!
My dad still had his slot cars when I was growing up. I remember the track had a distinct smell when it was being run.
Wow, I remember the AFX cars. I had a black 56 ford pickup with flames. I may still have it. Great memories
Mine are all Aurora style T-jets and A/FX cars.... With a couple of dated 1970-1971 A/FX chassis's....
I got a track for Christmas 76 that had Porsche 917s painted in the Centenial livery similar to the Vette and Camaro. Loved those cars. They even had working headlights. The Cheetahs are very cool. I guess you have a pack of Cheetahs. Or wood that be a pride of cheetahs? LOL
I need to dig my out my old H.O. slot cars. They're in storage right now. Back in my late teens, in the 70's. My friends, and I all had cool H.O. slot car lay outs. We would go to each others homes, and race. We were pretty conpetitive! I also had an 1/24 scale lay out at home. We race at the rental tracks back then too. I now built a 1/24 to 1/43 scale lay-out at home. The grandkids love building, playing with them. Thanks for sharing. Ron.....ATTACH=full]4924892[/ATTACH]
That is quite a collection. These slot cars sure bring back memories from my childhood. Makes me want to go into the crawl space and pull out my old cars. A trip down memory lane.
Here's an Aurora parts card... I believe these are the tires for the T-Jet hotrod slot cars.... ©1963 The tires are probably hard as a rock.... sorry about the cat.... She didn't feel like movin' out of the way
My favorite, and one that means a lot to me. We would go and race at friends homes in the early 70s. So I built this slot car like my real Vette I drove at the time. It had candy sapphire blue paint, L-88 hood, with side headers. I still have them both . Ron..... Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
