The HAMB is no different than some Star Trek board where Star Trek nerds make fun of someone who doesn't know the Key Grip's name (the one who filled in for the regular guy because he was sick) in episode 12. Even worse, blasting the guy talking about Star Wars on their Star Trek board.

We're just Traditional Hot Rod nerds on a traditional hot rodding board! We revel in TRADITIONAL hot rods, not rat rods. Just like the Trek geeks don't want Star Wars on their board. It doesn't make the Star Wars guy a bad guy...unless he dresses up like Darth Maul.

I have read all your posts tonight and have to say a few things. First, Rat, traditional or whatever, I love RODS, fiberglass or not, I like everything. Bash as some of you may, but isn't this what all the old school rodders had to put up with, and they kept doing what they do because of the love of the car no matter what anyones opinion? I have thick skin and take the pros and cons as I am sure I laid a few posts knocking somones creative or "JUNK" lol. Anyway, this " FIBERGLASS" bucket is far from done, and I guess I set myself up for some of your comments. Oh well, it makes for a entertaining night of reading.lol I don't care either way of what anyone thinks because its fun to build, I love cars and the guys who love them too. You all have a good night.

 

Anyway, you guys are all pretty awesome dudes and please if you see me at a burger joint, try and keep the magnets away from my body, they might not stick. LOL

The ideaology isn't that bad, build a cheap "old timey" car out of whats around. Its just the execution thats the bad part. To the point that their just like Hillbilly functional yard art.

 

Haha, I agree with you but have to admit that the only thing I hate more than the term "rat rod" is "'nuff said." It seems to imply that no one else could possibly have another suitable response or answer. Not saying at all that you mean it that way, it's just what I think of whenever I read or hear the phrase.

That, and when I used to work for StreetTrucks Mag I wrote a column called 'Nuff Said, which a couple of my friends named for me. Irony at its finest.

Back to the topic: I seem to remember a jump in membership on here a while back, back when "rat rods" were the latest craze. Coincidence?

tell ya one thing for sure tho...Someone with a traditional rod will pay for a striping job without bitching!!!! Trailer whores bitch because of a 125 dollar stripe job but spend 300 on shiny polished billet door handles!!!!!!
