Ok folks.... I want to see some shop pics! Where do you work your magic, do your damage, or just sit around thinking of what you could be doing? Not looking for dream shops, just wanna see any shops. Mine is 20 x 30 and running out of room. Please excuse the VW project of my daughter's. Gotta make some progress on it and get the '27 moved in one of these days. Hopefully soon! Anyway, let's see 'em!

30x32 and I think I need more room. I may build an extension on the front to park my two trucks in. That way I can keep them enclosed and still close off the back half of the shop when I grind and weld.
Here's a few pics of where I do my wrenching. We're still working on it. That's the reason for the clutter. We've been insulating and putting up the interior wall covering. We're using OSB at floor level, pegboard above that and metal up to the ceiling. One more wall to finish. 40x45, ceiling is 12' at the side walls and 14' at the center. 10Klb two post lift, 1 ton electric hoist on a 16' arm that swivels 180 degrees. 15x10 overhead door. 12 8' 2-lamp fuorescent lights, flood lights on one wall for getting light under open hoods, three ceiling fans on speed controls, gas heat, 150A service, each outlet box has two duplex recepts and they each have their own 20A breaker, blast cabinet, parts washer, 5hp two stage compressor MIG, ARC, gas welders. Epoxied cement floor. We still need a press, ****** jack and band saw. It been costly, fun, but we're not done yet. Money is just about all gone. I salvaged a solar heater and we're going to put it together next summer to save some LP.
Trust me... It normally doesn't look like that. Imagine it before the 6 hours of cleanup I did prior to taking the pics. LOL
Hey, I said it was my daughter's. Cut me some slack will ya? LOL (16 year old daughter= VW AKA: cheap parts, cheap insurance, good gas mileage) Besides, bugs are cool
My shop is definately not a dream shop but it works for us.. Like the landlord and like the location. Got me 4300 square ft right outside a major city(Boston). this is just before I moved in...took us two days to s****e the floor cuz the engone shop that had been there for 10 years had never cleaned it. Painted the walls too. This is once we started working in there. Busy Busy. (Its mpore organized now. Doesnt look like a cluster F*uck) Here is the outside. Nice and nondescript.
Is it a sin to have Shop Envy? I hope not cause its Christmas and I'm trying to be good. Merry Christmas to everyone!!!
Theres a tour of it here................ http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3778&highlight=chaz
This is what space I have when the Duster is outside !! 20 x 24 for now. Gonna open the back wall for motors and parts that I can't seem to part with Y'know. That will give the cars room to breathe.
Holy Cow...some of you have some big fancy shops! This is my little space, it works but I can't fit a regular sized car in it anywhere so I'm out in mud for anything biger than a fenderless hot rod.
This is a pic from a few years back...here's mine ; lookin at the back section; the whole garage is 20X46, the front 20X20 is for the daily drivers, the rear 20X26 is the shop.I put up a plywood wall and just heat the back section in winter. I can only get one car in here now as I have 10-12 engines/******s in there takin up room. Time to clean shop!
I do everything in a 25x30 garage which works fine 1 car at a time. I also have a great shop dog who watches the place for me.
Jimmyv, that's what I call a very nice shop! I've got a 33' x 42' area, with 2 car-lifts, and lofts, one for benchracing and one for extra storage. It also got radiant floorheating which is great for taking a nap once in a while. The "Engine"-area, The "BenchRace"-area, Some 'nostalgic views' of the place, Hope I didn't scare anyone here with my mug in that pic...
Man i wish i had some land. But here in the land of big $$$ for a house lot (105k) for 60 x 60 lot not much room for a shop here I can't wate for 62 so i can move and get a home with a bit of land and build a shop. Sad in So Cal. Dave
Your basic 2 car garage with attached carport. The garage used to have a granny flat on the back but I knocked out the wall for extra garage space. I have about 800 sq ft. Not very big but I find it's not how much room you have but how you use it.
