Wow ! Now there's a change ! I like it ! Good proportions too, I not a big fan of the 2' long box with a long wheelbase look. What did you even keep from the original truck ? Just the cab ? Todd
Thats the 1.5ton frame under it now. I just flipped it over. But yeah, cab, frame, and steering box thats about it.
My '57 Chevy truck, daily driver right now.... 350/T5/3.08 12 bolt.... got 17 mpg with the vaccuum advance unhooked (don't ask) the last time I drove it up to Sacramento....
Some really nice trucks and ideas in this thread. Here's one that I hope will be mine in the next couple of days - been standing for ten years and the guy wants everything to be right before he sells............ Apparently titled as a '53 - we got some variations on trim/grilles etc over here. I'll post more about it once it's mine! Barry
Daang I like this one. I have a couple trucks but they don't quit fit the format so I'll drool on those that do.
The first is my old 41' Chebbie project that I sold a few years ago (those 35 ford grilles look GOOD with 40's chevys). I still got the engine (other than the distributor and alternator, the engine is totally 60's period correct, holley 94's atop a old round edelbrock tunnel ram, gear drive, camel back heads, etc) and tires n wheels. The engine is going in the 49' Panel Truck (my current project, sorry for the crappy cell phone pix, my camera is broke and theres very little room behind the garage), it had pretty much every original part in the rear end. Fenders, hubcaps, molding, door handles, bolts, etc. Has the original babbit beater that runs (The carter I pulled off it looked brand new inside, just slightly dirty outside). Idk how "traditional" its gonna be, but I think people will like it hoodless, two tone paint (nothin shiny), lowered, possibly blown (i can actually supercharge the 327 for cheaper than I can carb it... go figure) btw, those are 2bbl ait filters on the 41's cowl.
I guess I will throw in mine.......not of the pre '64 stuff, but it looks RIGHT!! But the door signeage is now my own logo........ And I'm also working on a '37 ' Ford too...401 powered....
