I had some of thhis stuff years ago and was never really sure if this stuff would hold up over time.
Here's my scenario, body sealed up with DP-LF, and I want to spray this Z-Chrome on top of it, then seal it after blocking.

Does this create and eggshell effect?

I've heard PPG makes a primer that works as a body filler...

Alot of the vette guys use it, yellow in color. They lay it down on top of the gelcoat then hit it with some black primer to sand through.

I have used the Z-chrome, even have some... somewhere.

They say it should be sprayed dierctly on bare metal but I had already shot the 41 with an etching primer.

Anyway, over time I have spreayed it on bare metal, the etching primer and various body fillers.

It holds to everything I have sprayed it on, it basically a really high build primer, three coats is supposed to be about as thick as a nickel.

It sands really easily, you will need a long board or you will wind up with ripples.Just like the ones around my windows. [IMG]

Oh yeah, it's like baby shit colored so I hope you are shooting something else over it.

Root, I used Z Chrome over an Etch Primer on my 37. I love the stuff. Great for smoothing out any irregularities and scratch marks. Easy to work with and dirt cheap too. Only a year on the paint now but it seems to be holding up well. I do know guys have used it for many years.
