You need to look at the book build your own cyclecar you can build two versions of the steering either wire and bobbin or direct steering ,
Both seem to give about 3/4 turn lock to lock just like driving a kart ,

Buy the book from my friend Tim gun owner of the grafton

    Tell him Adrian sent you

Adrian,Model A. Keith sent a copy to me earlier in the year! I'm sure Tim was the source.Your JAPIC workshop is the kind of place I had envisioned these vehicles being birthed from.

I just can't seem to keep my workshop tidy, I think it maybe a backlash to all the years I worked in F1 where everything was spotless and tidy,
But on second thoughts, lazyness maybe the problem

Make no apologies for your shop. A.A. Milne(author of "Winnie the Pooh") said this: " One of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries" .

Today's progress on the jappic project , was working in the room with the laser cutter at school so I made the mock up parts for the spring mounts and the rear radius arm friction damper mount , these are cut from 3mm mdf

courtesy of Mr. Bob, I have now learned that the rear axle width on a GN/FN is 3'10". In many images that rear width looks extremely narrow, and given the size of my ass narrow gets uncomfy. I also learned that the early FN's ran a wb of 8',8'6" and 8'10". THis is great as I am long time T speedster geek and pen most of my "specials" out at 96". the mind wheels are turning...

Well what do you know, drive-by-wire is not a new concept.:D

That 8 engine go-kart must sound like a dozen cats in a blender!

Your chassis is looking great. Fine workmanship there.

This thing is just raw raccoon butt sex. (just a weird way of saying super cool.)

  26. I saw that at Retromobile a few years ago. I think the front wheels pull inwards and it rises up and becomes very narrow for parking and garaging.

Hi. I'm new to the group and have just worked my way through the first 152 pages. The photograph here is an internet find. I've been through the 152 pages and I don't think I've seen this one.

    Enjoy.....
