Bob, you can't just drop a pic like that with no explanation.

The guy has no money to speak of.He only has a bike.So does his girlfriend. When they go on a date they ride bicycles.Trouble is ,she's kinda homely and he doesn't want anyone to see her.So she drives the enclosed bike.

Actually ,I have no idea.I highly suspect it was for gaining higher speeds maybe in a velodrome, perhaps behind another vehicle?

    Enjoy!...

    Well Bob you were right!!

I thought that I was told that the car was finished, but when I checked with Doug (son) he said that the car was going to be painted, AND THEN THE BRAKES WOULD BE INSTALLED!!

Not making a lot of sense, waiting to put the brakes on till after the paint job, but----

Sorry for the mis-information--I plead senility!

    Herb, with hanging head.

Did someone say "what about the rest of him?"

Good weekend on the jappic got the staggered seat done and the metal work is done and bolted to the wood parts,
The lack of engine is now holding me up, the 600 sv engine is really much wider than the 350 engine and I will struggle to get the pedals in ,
Despite the fact it only has two pedals clutch and brake as the throttle is a hand throttle on the steering wheel

Don't know why the seat was staggered as it's impossible to get a passenger in and drive the car he would get eaten by the drive chain but, its supposed to be a faithful recreation so that's how it has to be

Speaking of engines, saw this Gilera sidevalve on EBay and have gone back and forth on it but have decided it is not for me.

Might make a decent cyclecar motor but with no carb and dubious spark, more than I want to gamble on.

Herb, you mentioned Douglas dirt trackers... I guess they're pretty simple to work on.

    Good one Bob!!

I'll have to chastise my son for appearing in public with no clothes on!

Any idea where the pix came from? He might want to put it in the club magazine.

    THANKS!!

If you take an infinite number of monkeys and a box of spanners you will eventually have a Douglas

Today's KIM II update from Paul Rogers Engineering. Archie Frazer-Nash's KIM II should be alive and well at VSCC Prescott this weekend after a 60 year nap!

    It's a trick.
The monkeys may make the Douglas but it takes a human observer to take the wrenches away from them before they take it apart again!

    ..............jappic update ......

This week the rear axle arrived , it's actualy an old school kart axle , need to extend one of the key ways to mount the drive sprocket then machine taper and keyway on the ends to mount the hubs ,

The grease pump that lubricates the valve gear that mounts on the dash arrived good eBay buy ,

Another eBay buy was a quantity of nice dome head 1/4 unf aircraft bolts they look very vintage

Hopefully I should have the road springs this weekend they are from a early cyclecar of some sort and have nice tapering leaves with radiused ends they are half elliptic springs so will need chopping in half to make the quarter elliptic springs I require

    Busy weekend

You'll be rolling in no time. You are a great inspiration and motivation for me. Thanks for the update. Any other builders have updates?
