Going from memory it was a home made engine using a Riley Crank case and adaptor blocks to take the Liberty cylinders and heads. It had a very long stroke apparently, but I don't recall any torque or horsepower figures mentioned.

    Bob,
Thank you on excellent photos! From thoery I knew for such type of compressors, but didin't saw one in parts as you show it! I was more familair with ROOTS typs with couple of eight-shaped "pistons" revolving inside a case...

Yes,that is correct. I did ask when he was in the process of rebuilding this if he was going to use carbon fiber vanes as a replacement. No,was the answer....he returned metal to service.

We showed Anthony's Wing as he was disassembling it and cleaning it up.They have the motor back in it now. This car was formerly owned by Gary Howard. 12096389_1640079209595172_8767079719865128381_n.jpg 11145913_1640079349595158_5701128650281307738_n.jpg 12119143_1640079409595152_8902091277679040123_n.jpg

Anthony's Wing. The idea wasn't to strip and completely restore the car.
They did take about 40 hours to strip the several layers of paint down to the original black using razor blades. 1521971_487202968067731_661890746_n.jpg 1533888_487202934734401_2081871285_n.jpg 1538949_488047771316584_255449459_n.jpg 1551577_502555096532518_1270279273_n.jpg 1609806_502531763201518_796196368_n.jpg

I hate to correct you Bob, but I think you meant Kenneth Howard = Von Dutch. Was it owned by Gary Howard, the custom builder? Whoever owned it it's neat as hell.

thanks Olson! No apologies required.I don't need to pass around the wrong information.

  28. From what I remember it was Kenneth Howard- Von Dutch that owned it. See the pin striping? I would of had a hard time removing that paint.

The car was owned by Kenny Howard = Von Dutch. In another correction it is a 1920 Henderson Model K engine like Fred said.

    Thanks Bob,
Was going to say Henderson K, but Olsen beat me to it. Notice from the skirt of the cylinders that it had had a hard life. The farm windmill type fan is great also--wonder how much that added to the top speed?
