    ... 21 HP at 4 000 revolution per minute, from 850 cc and 20 kg/HP - not bad figures even 25 years later for small cars!

    Nope. Built '66-7, from a '57-'59 BMW & WWII Allison.

    Bob,

    New-born "morgans" are wonderful machines, indeed!
    Probably better than originals when they were new in twenties-thirties.

    Now, would they be accepted as originals at all shows, rallies, races by authoritarian associations and other owners/drivers of true originals?

    I know the engines alone start at about 13,000 British Pounds Sterling.

    Somewhere I found a few photos more and plans for such vehicles - but couldn't downloaded them... Front wheels look as from Renault 4cv from fifties (maybe entire front suspension/steering)...

    There have been a whole bunch of home built 3W's with a bike bolted to a VW chassis. What's the point?

    Fred,
    Sorry - I do not understand your question!

    Simply – Bob posted one photo and I gave short comments to explain what it is about... Therefore: no point, no moral, no lesson...
    For me, that three-wheeler was interested from a few reasons:

    • It was European construction, where such vehicles were unknown in that period and still are not so popular as in USA;
    • It was combination of excellent motorcycle (BMW 500 from that period) and excellent light front part (Reanault 4CV had it better than VW-beetle);
    • It was constructed 2-3 decades before in USA appeared “bunch of home built 3W's with a bike bolted to a VW chassis”...
    I do not have anything against VW-beetle front part to be used in combination with motorcycle, even started such project by myself some 12 years ago, but must abound it …

    For me,the beauty of using a BMW bike rear section is a great idea,because it is a well crafted piece of machinery.The only thing missing would a reverse gear.However,you can buy transmissions with reverse gear in them that fit the engine.I'd like to see a BMW cycle engine used in a Morgan 3 wheeler!

    ... that started about Herb, but finished about myself!
    Now, I am discovered as pervert (onyl when engines and motorised vehicles are involved) and could be baned from nice Cyclecar Lovers Society
