Fredvv44 posted these earlier in the thread, but he was looking for more information too:

I couldn't find anything more about the car or its builder. It looks like an A7 Ulster grill shell and I saw the reg number on a list of original Ulster registrations.

To have differential at such place - quite strange feeling during race, or even just seating while engine is iddling!

    Thank you chaps
I thought I had seen it before.
I think an A7 build with butterfly wings is on my bucket list.

It is owned and built by a gent named Nick Allen. It is Austin Seven based. The diff is an Austin unit converted to drive the chains to the rear.

    Thanks Bob
    That's fantastic!
Do you know of any YouTube vids of the butterfly flying ? perhaps from the Shelsley hill climb
This is quite the ultimate A7 special set up i have seen - but i am now torn between the first 'iteration' and the butterfly.

I started making CAD drawings to build a cyclekart of this design. Made the front axle and wheels and stopped to build another steam engine.

    Kume,
This is one of the craziest British specials based on Austin-7 chassis! It seems regsitered and road-legal?
Very low, but very small in general, or driver is really big! Good luck in desing and construction, inform us about process, please.

    Ciao,
    Zoran

    Fred,
Never too late to re-start construction of that crazy but wonderful special? Maybe a few sketches could be posted here?

It is strange how many enthusiast love in the same time tinny motorised vehicles (cycle-cars, specials...) and gigantic aero-engine monsters, or boats and air-crafts, or steam-engines for any use... The best if they are strange and home-built!

Stu, my friend from Australia connected a few of such loves, and for instance made steam-powered veteran, replica of Stanley Steamer (everything from scratch) and assembled one for his friend Tom (modified kit-complete Likamobile)... Not really cycle-cars, but light cars for sure!

    Ciao,
    Zoran

I'll get back to it. I found a set of castings for an engine I've always wanted to build so I had to do that. Here is a pic of the CAD drawing for the A7 special as a cyclekart. That will be really fun to play with too.

    Fred, thank you!
Such nice and useful computer design is one of the things that I will not learn and use...
Excellent example of designing CycleKart on the base of English special.
I think that you are member of CycleKartClub and that I saw there some of your plans, according to style and quality.

    Regards,
    Zoran
