Zoran, a set of castings for a steam engine i've always wanted to build became available so I bought them and built it over the past year or so. I hope to get back to the cyclekart next year.

    Fred,
Tom/Dodge is quite right: many of us share various hobbies, from DIY 3-wheelers and 4-wheelers of all sizes and powers, to micro-cars with small engines or with aero-engines (from cyclecars to real giants) - and, of course steam-powered machines!

No mater how I adore CycleKarts, as my old-dream from boy's and teenager's days (CycleKarts didn't exist yet, but I planed/dreamed to build one soap-box moped-powered quadricycle!) - I understand your decision and pause on CycleKart project... So, if have to choose between beloved CycleKart and steam-engine of any type - I am afraid that I would make a choice as you did! Of course, in meantime some cute two-seat 3-wheeler as more practical vehicle for cruising around with my wife. My 3-wheeler started in Belgrade were quite modest and for sure that final product would be quite rude compared to your Morgan-style 3-wheeler (if I finished it before came here to Bern).
If you have some more photos or video about building and working of your steam-machine - it would be nice if we could see them here. I am sure that neither moderators nor members should have objection.(or attached to private message?)

    Ciao,
    Zoran

Do you have any suggestions where I should look for more images of this car? I am particularly interested in his quarter elliptical setup.

... except shown photos of Z-racer in Museum, I couldn't find any better photos of its suspension! Obviously that at front it had double quarter-elliptic springs, but I am not sure for rear. As I could see, probably single quarter-elliptic leaf springs as on some other models. At front, Ceskoslovenská Zbrojovka used a few systems on various models. Some photos are attached.

    Ciao,
    Zoran

This is my 6th engine build; all British narrow gauge. I have a youtube channel with lots of videos of steam and 3 wheel car stuff.

    Hello Fred,
And thank you on web-links for your magnificent films about small steam railways! I enjoy in watching them all. Nice machines driving across quite long polygon trough nice countryside!

I do not know well scales of small (big model?) railways (some friends thought me, but I forgot), but your scale looks to me perfect: right size for people to seat (almost) IN locomotives and wagons, not just seating/hanging ON them...

Wonderful details on machines, with nice sight of moving parts and steam, with pleasant sound!
    --- ---
Your blog about building JZR 3-wheeler is interesting for lovers of modern cycle-cars and in the same time very useful for anybody that plan to build something similar!

    Regards,
    Zoran
P.S.: Some information about classic steam power in Bern and works on steam-models of my Internet firends - in private messges in a few days... (just to not occupy this nice thread with OFF-TOPIC posting).

These engines run on 7.5" gauge track. The engine scale depends upon the track gauge of the engine being modeled which in my case is 2 ft. gauge. That makes the models 3.75" to the foot or about 1/3 of the full size.
There are club tracks all across the US. I go to ones in Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, 3 or 4 in central Florida and 2 near me in north Fl.

The blog really surprised me with the number of views. No one has done a build record of one of these 3 wheelers nor is there a build manual for them so it was of great interest to many. I love building things.

It is an obscure hobby and most tracks are private. Here is a link to tracks around the world. Click the bar for US or International tracks.
    P.S. forgot the link

DB Panhard F1? In the mid 50s you had the choice of 750cc supercharged or 2.5L normally aspirated. Only two tried the 750 option & the front wheel drive DB was the quirkiest:
Here are the two that were built, in their only appearance, the non-championship Pau GP. The 2nd car here was the only one to finish, dead last & 18 laps down.

    Nice seeing the Panard,
I know the daughter of the cheif engineer, Lagarde,
She lives not far from me and has showed me some blueprints of her father.
The boxer moter is amazing inside everything on roller bearings,
