    Hllo David,
Villard or Colombe three-wheelers had quite unusual and complicated front-wheel suspesnion, poer and steering - at least for my understanding of that!
    villard-chassi12.jpg villard, chassis10.jpg Villard_1925-1935.JPG colomb11.jpg
A few pictures will be attached, but somewhere have more sketches and photos with details. If I find them, I would post them, too...

    Ciao,
    Zoran

Zoran, thanks very much for posting these pictures,
I didnt realise it is front wheel drive, complicated beast,
Worlds first hub center steering ?
Very complicated and all the stress is taken on the top front pivot,
Very rare machine i would have thought.
    Thanks again, david.

DSCF9994.JPG I've got a chance to upgrade on a Brass Era car and will be parting with this 1911 Kelesy Motorette three wheeler rear drive wheel if anyone is dreaming about an early three wheeler build. Bob

    Hello Bob,
Sorry that you abounded project of recreating cute 1911 Kelesy Motorette three-wheeler, but happy that you have the new project!
(any information and photos ready, just for all of us?)
    --- ---
I would buy your wheel, just as it is, even if I do not know what to do with it - if we are closer and the wheel isn't expensive... Who knows, maybe one day could be used for something in a style of three-wheel veteran karts (full replica should be too complicated).

It looks to me that it had drum-brake between sprocket and wheel?

Good luck with selling the wheel and start of the new project!

    Regards,
    Zoran

Thank you Zoran. I'll let everyone know what the mystery car is once the deal goes through. I'll miss the Kelsey wheel but it will be for the better. Off to find more treasures I can live without. Bob

That was for publication. British magazines of that era often cut out the background before printing car pics. It's easier to cut out a simple backdrop than a complex one, but you'd think they'd use something nicer than a well-used dropcloth.
