Harold Beart was the Morgan dealer in Croydon, Surrey (now part of London). He was one of Morgan's top Brooklands racers and record setters.

Most likely the attraction lies with the finely crafted diminutive cab more than anything else.

True, the cab is a work of art.

I love it too but I'm concerned that one wheel is turning right while the other one is going straight!

The shorter the wheelbase the more it shows, plus the close up shot probably adds to the perspective.

    Hello Herb,
Model Tatra T-49 was quite rare - just 200 cars were made, and cute coupe was made on the base of commercial three-wheeler... From desciption on web-page of Lane Motor Museum ( https://www.lanemotormuseum.org/ ):

    Tatra T-49- 1934
Developed with the intent to offer a commercial vehicle with as low cost as possible, Tatra introduced the three-wheeled T-49 in 1930. There were two options available: a one-person freight version (seen below) and this two-seater personal transport model before you. T-49s retained the backbone chassis, with the vertical-mounted engine (in the passenger cars) attached to a central carrier tube that also supported the front axle. However, the T-49 was not a success, and only 200 cars were built. There are less than 5 T-49s that have survived.

    Specifications:
    Manufacturer: Zavody Ringhoffer-Tatra
    Country of Origin: Czechoslovakia
    Drivetrain Configuration: Rear-engine, rear-wheel drive
    Engine: 528cc four-stroke, overhead valve, 1-cylinder, air-cooled; 7 HP
    Transmission: 3 speed manual
    Top Speed: 34 mph
    Years of Production: 1930-1939
    Number produced: 200
    Original Cost: unknown

For me, one of the best looking small coupé cars - not an easy task for designer to create an elegant body on small chassis - and being three-wheeler...

    Ciao,
    Zoran

P.S.: In Csechz Republik was made the replica of Tatra Model T-49.... But, they are modest constructors - it could be better said that it is a re-creation of original! I am not sure if that is the same car as exhibited in Lane Motor Museum - but could be.

'The Light Car & Cyclecar', sometime in the spring or summer of 1925. This is the article referenced in the caption:

  25. I love the fact that the artist rendering for the article looks very much like a SPAD!
