    My guess is that it's not. Probably the coachbuilders of Salmson's themselves.

  7. Bob, thank you for sharing that pic- I have a later book version that has all kind of neat things for kids to build, including a form for making snow forts and a prop-driven airsled!

    We built stuff in the '50's too. I got Popular Mechanics every year for Christmas. Dad brother and I built a hydroplane from Pop Mechanics article.

    You are quite right for both names!

    Sir John Carden designed his Carden Monocar in 1914, but later sold industrial rights to its production to company AV in 1916, who produced their AV Monocar until 1924...


    Later Sir Carden designed quite new cyclecar in 1919 which he sold the same year to Tamplin and then a further model which he sold to Arnott and Harrison in 1922 who made it under the New Carden until 1925.

    A little mess with changing of models and companies, but all masterships of Sir Carden.
    He was later famous for the design of light tanks!

    Hello there,
    It seems that the first variant of GN had V-twin engine positioned with crankshaft crosswise, cylinder one after another. A. F. Nash and H. R. Godfray were not satisfied especially with cooling, but in general too, with a motorcycle engine used. Therefore, they made their own engine and turned it into a position that was the most known: crankshaft in the longitudinal position, with cylinders as Mickey Mouse ears...

    Maybe some variants had single-speed belt transmission and some had double-speed chain transmission?

    What to choose if somebody offers such great opportunity to me?
    So maynmagnificent original classic cars on three or four wheels - but being modest I would be practical and take Citroen 2cv based three-wheeler, or if possible - something from upper scale: New Morgan threewheler!
    There is one here in Bern - looks and drives wonderful!

    Tonight he asked me to take him to the store to redeem cans, so he can buy flowers for his mom's Mothers Day gift, he's a great kid, you should see him drive his gas powered go cart. :) Bob

    Now, it is quite rare that kids know and want to play with real things instead to live in the virtual world of electronic games and communications! He shows great imagination and dedication!

    Until real cyclecar, original or replica, maybe something like at shown photos!

    Fun, elegant and safe?
    Shown are gravity-racers (soap-box cars), but could be simply motorized with a gasoline engine or an electric motor?

    Now, that is really The Cyclecar! (a combination of a car and a motorcycle)
    Probably one-off, amaterur affair or start of business?

    It looks to me that there is not much of rear suspension at all?
    At least for the right wheel - they didn't make false "hard-tails" in that period?

    Not so cool as a solo motorcycle, not so comfortable as an automobile - but as a combination quite cute and practical...
