  3. Back in the late 70's a guy showed up at the Lodi Grape Festival run with a 3/4 scale "T" bucket, it had a 750 Honda motorcycle engine in the front. That was a wicked little car. I was sitting on the grass at the Hotel watching cars go by. He pulled out from a Hotel a few places down from us. He got on it and the front wheels lifted about 3" off the ground. He shifted and away he went. I'd love to find that car today. Chain drive if I remember right, maybe a Harley trike rear axle.

Yep, that Harley rear axle makes it easy. You have your transmission built in with the engine. Except today you'd be hard pressed to liberate an Harley axle to use in something other than a Servi-car.

Thanks for sharing. I recently watched a YT about folks who build cycle karts and race them. Seems they have the greatest time.

  18. Victoria, Australia. Croydon, kilsyth , Montrose ,Kalorama Mt Dandenong is hilly country. Wonder how long that little car lasted there. Those liscense plates are worth a fortune now.
Croydon had a great twin Drive-In with 1100 car capacity  up till 1990. Fun times  in the 70s

I don't know what it is. I do like the acetylene generator and headlamp. I can't tell if there is one on the other side or not.

294618890_10160052253363232_3302819429012967799_n.jpg From the Lane Museum...An unconventional car throughout, the Grataloup was built by Mssr Grataloup of France. The BSA motorcycle engine is placed next to the driver so that the majority of the weight is in the center of the car to improve handling. This car was discovered in a Citroën garage in Biarritz, France near where Mssr Grataloup resided. The Grataloup was his daily driver.

That looks like a fun car. Clean it up, check out the mechanical bits and drive it.

The steering wheel on the black car is a larger diameter than the road tires. I still love it.
