Messerschmitt KR200-Successor 196cc 1957
This is what Messerschmitt and Fritz Fend had in mind as successor of the KR-200 later FMR-200 cabin scooter. This vehicle was designed and built in 1957. It also had three wheels and a side-hinged plexiglas dome, but then, according to the retro-future car style, with tailfins and narrow sidepods. The front had a fake air intake like a jet nozzle. The small front fenders were more profiled and the bodywork completed with a chrome strip. Again a 191cc single-cylinder two-stroke engine was mounted in the rear.
Since the business was worse overall, the project was not pursued. It remained a prototype.

Amilcar with Hispano Suiza engine

 

Really cool Amilcar and I like the 2 speed Morgan next to it.

 

That's one amazing car. More fun than an Model T with a blown Hemi in it. Makes every hair stand up just hearing it.

 

When you sit in this Amilcar, your rear end is directly over chains and sprockets spinning at high speed and driven by a powerful v8, eh, what could go wrong?

 

If you worry about such things then get a Chevy Impala. LOL

Only, no need for fear, I would prefer such or any other Amilcar than any of the "modern" automobiles! Beside my love - Amilcar never had chains and sprockets at their rear end. All of the G.N. had sprockets and chains as final transmission, the same as many other cyclecars... Then, the the early models of Fraser-Nash, had that, too... Three-wheeler Morgans had some chain from the middle to the rear wheel?
Nothing to fear - some wooden or aluminium plate for the seat would be enough...


Today, some of the designers, constructors, drivers and racers of CycleKarts - do not have fear of chains and sprockets installed under the lower parts of thier body... Quite in a style of some British classic specials...

The pre 1931 Morgans had 2 chains. One on each side of the rear wheel with different ratios. The chains were of equal length so you could swap them when the high gear one got worn and stretched.

A friend in England is looking for a crown wheel and pinion (ring and pinion) for a 1922 Amilcar CC. Anyone able to help?

The chart shows zero in Alaska .I know for a fact that there are several Bombardier rigs here in Fairbanks. Probably more in Anchorage. Could be they are registered as motorcycles here.
