Bob, that is fantastic. What ever language they were speaking I did not understand one single word. I'd be afraid to go there without an interpreter. I loved the steamer.

Doug, I'm sure every one of those folks speaks English. Too bad I'm too lazy to learn another language .As for the steamer , it is owned by Duncan Pittaway(always wearing a tie!) owner of "The Beast of Turrin" and the car in my avatar. He has done the London to Brighton run with it. The 1893 Salvesen Steam Car - YouTube

That is a man that is having too much fun!! I watched the video of him starting the Beast on compression. Looks much easier then it is. I just watched the festival of Slowth from 2019. It was good to see Joris Bergsma who used to own Pre-War.com. I saw him at Hershey a few times, great guy.

I used to converse with Joris before the sale. I don't visit the site much anymore.

I've given up too, it's just not the same. I bought T shirts from him a few times until he used the Hershey script on the shirt one year and they threw him out.

I remember that conflict. Jim told me a little about it.

And we both miss those conversations. These confusers have sure made the world a lot smaller.

IMG_6668.jpeg The sound of the rocker arms and open exhaust would be hypnotic

It’s the vscc long course event at Prescott in a couple of weeks. I’ll video them running for you.

Magnifying the image on the State Library of Victoria website I could read 'Derby' on the radiator. VSCC (Victorian Sports Car Club?) speed trials June 16, 1947; George Thomas photo. is014921.jpg

This was posted in the special's thread, I sent the photo to a friend who owns a Fraser Nash with Aussie racing heritage & asked if it was his car, this is what he said:

"Yeah that's it as a two seater. It's had 4 bodies in total . Two two seat and 2 single seat."

He's rebuilding it to the early 30's as single seat version.
Incidently it eventually got a 99a flathead, after the twin supercharged Gough was replaced is014680.jpg
