Yeah, but I’m using a Ford flathead V8 with a rear mounted rad. Going to look more like Petro Shekhter’s interpretation of Richard’s GN JAP. Hoping to have a running ch***is by the fall.

I built this one. It's more of a Cyclekart than a Cyclecar but it is a lot of fun.
The frame is built out of 1/16" wall 1"x 3" rectangular tubing, and the front axle is 1 1/2" Dia. 1/8" wall tubing. All the rest of the parts are pretty much go kart parts except the 17" Honda motorcycle wheels.

Haha! I’m going with Ford’s wide five wheels front and back.

Don't remember seeing that one before. I see he doesn't have any coolant hose connected to the rear engine.

    Thank you, Ziggster,
For such a wonderful films of extraordinary British special!
    So, there is one more:

Well, if somebody had a pair of BSA front-wheel-drive light autos, what to do? To make one four-wheel-drive!
And, one more film with "almost ordinary" specials, with the same one at 10:10

So much examples of magnificent creations in the spirit of British imagination and engineer copiabilities, from vintage era but any other, too!
I was enjoying, hope you all too!
    Regards, Zoran

... it seems that machinist Martin of Garagistas Guild had a few more projects of similar, but simpler specials:

Hi all, I am chasing a little history and perhaps a new home for a “buckingham’s meteor” cycle car light I have. The lens is around an inch thick. Google tells me Buckingham’s produced cycle cars from only 1913-1914 and ceased operation in 1923. The shape, name and construction of this light is quite cool and the reason I purchased the “Meteor”in the first place. I am raising funds for my ten year old son’s cancer treatment, with expensive surgery at the end of April, and this is why I am looking to sell. I am based in Adelaide, South Australia. Does anyone have images of one of these cycle cars, and an accurate production time? att.6lYfN5NuCsIr5DmehNa4rK_3S0yRKXPwpzoERBbV7Wc.jpeg att.o3V0eG18LbZs_dnVPqu4aP3b0WvGoaArwlfczOacX_M.jpeg att.5D_HFGeP4VNvPgagw7Hf2e_Ju1Z2V19nH8M4j2D0eaM.jpeg att.BcjVyxsjtkq_gjdPxms2myfWRziqegQ1wziaTRbESqc.jpeg att.IHoQZN-RJJGfcQErCzDVxYFlRb28e51Cozv95biiM5U.jpeg

    Hello, Nice three-wheeler, nice video!
Could there be used ch***is of Triumph Herald/Spitfire?
Three times in my youth, I tried to make a replica of some English special, using Triumph components. The first was just plain ch***is, next I bought all components for it, then I had to sell ch***is (no money for hobbies any more), then I bought complete Herald in running condition! Sadly, it was stollen out of the street, while I was on winter holiday in Bosnia (the first and the last one). It was sold to junk-yard, I found it and took it - but, too ruined to be used...
Form experience: no free money enough, no working place, no understanding and tolerant wife - no starting projects!
Well, now I have understanding and tolerant wife, but...

    Ciao, Zoran

Copied these pics a fe days ago because of the friction shocks. The FB reel actually did not have a good overall pic of the Salmson.

Hartford friction shocks are still available in the UK.

Yeah, I saw that. Pricey though with CAN$ exch rate. Will make my own based on this design. Not sure of the make/model of the car.

This is Jay Leno's Shotwell, which was a homebuilt (in 1931!) three-wheeler powered by an Indian motorcyle drivetrain. Not sure if it counts as a cyclecar for this thread, but it is really neat.

Just found your video on Hartford shocks. The star shaped part is critical. It spreads the pressure out over a large area rather than a bolt tightening against the middle of the surface. Second the new friction material looks great. Looks like you can buy both parts from them. If you want your shocks to actually function you will have to build them the right way.
