That looks very much like a ‘37 Chevy tail light. They are available as repops. I used them on my JZR 3wheeler.

Wow! That ****er is nice! Pure Sports Car.

 

I've wondered about a build in that spirit around a Kawasaki Z1300 engine — though the Amilcar engine is about 200cc smaller, and thanks to the blower (potentially) 30bhp more powerful.

 

I was just watching Millyard on FB building some sort of straight 6 motorcycle engine out of three blocks. Pure genius.

The genius comes from the ability to put in time the modular units to run smoothly in synchronization as a singular cohesive unit.

 

Great to see this thread is still alive. Love that Amilcar. I have some designs going on a boat tailed roadster like that but a little bit bigger with a Miata drivetrain.

That was awesome! Wouldn’t be a day in the English countryside without some rain. Lol! I like the blue one with the kids sitting in front of the driver. Haha! Never seen that before.

Can't get over the diminutive size of these. They remind me of the go cart a friend built in high school metal shop, powered by a motorcycle drivetrain. When he finished it, he drove it home. He said it would do 60 mph.

That AV Monocar is, like the Carden on which it was partially based, a catalogue of extremely bad ideas. It's as if the builders thought that, since nobody really understood how these things worked, who knows? perhaps the diametric opposite of common sense might prove the very breakthrough solution to the problem of the automobile. There is an irresistable charm in that; and my mad scientist side can't help wondering how to make those bad ideas work without taking any of them away.

I've watch this event for many years. It has gotten bigger this year. Lots of new entries. Loved the steam car. I've built 8 live steam locomotives in 7 1/2" gauge. Steam is so fascinating.

 

I went down a serious steam rabbit hole about 30 years ago. What drew me was the whole model engineer thing, making actual working mechanical things out of lumps of metal, which called for a slightly bigger scale.

 

Yes, that is the fun of live steam. Making all those little bits, even the scale model bolts/nuts and plumbing fittings. Now days guys buy all that from suppliers. They are missing what the hobby is all about.
