I wonder if the original article meant to say Fayetteville Arkansas (or even North Carolina) rather than Fayetteville Alaska?

If you read the Popular Mechanics article linked from that page, it says Ark. Somebody just messed up their state abbreviations. This bears a resemblance to the three wheeler that popped up here a few years ago. Makes you wonder, especially since Mayes filed a patent for his idea.

Looks like it had the entire engine and drivetrain facing the "wrong way" with the diff flipped to give 3 forward gears again. The fact that the steering was handled by the rear wheel would seem to be the reason why it acheived only 55mph. Anyone who has driven a rear wheel steer vehicle will know that they are scary at 15mph. Might have been better using a 4wd front axle and leaving the rear wheel for keeping the back end from dragging on the floor ;-) Interesting vehicle though....

hahaha...........I can, cause it's sat like that outside a locked shop...........!.......maybe next time i get to the polishers it will be inside and being worked on ... ... .. ! .
