I was lucky enough to get an invite to the Festival of Slowth. Had a great time - so many truly bizarre creations. Here's a gallery of photos and a few sketches... http://www.flickr.com/photos/stefanmarjoram/sets/72157629820486526/with/7236999132/ here's a taster of the weird and wonderful machines...
I did a web search... I still can't find out what the Festival of Slowth is, exactly. Can anyone help? Gary
Gary, The 'Festival of Slowth' was the result of cyclecar enthusiasts slowly realising that there were sufficient survivors to warrent celebration. If I had to blame someone for coining the phrase I'd point the finger at Bob Jones - a man with seemingly endless energy and enthusiasm, and a Tamplin in his shed. It was certainly he who chose the Lobster Supper as a theme. Last weekend's was the 3rd 'Festival of Slowth' and the name was the logical opposite to the increasingly popular 'Festival of Speed' at Goodwood . Cheers, Robin.
Thanx for the info. Thru some web searches, I was getting a false (?) impression that it had something to do with the Seven Deadly Sins and perhaps some sort of whimsical, Monte Python-esque National celebration you folks have that I wasn't aware of. Escargot must be on the menu, too, eh? Gary Can I get a herald sticker?
