Ok, I've got a swap coming up this weekend. What headlights are you running on an open wheeled roadster? I see MANY pics on here but i really don't know what year/make they are from. I see the E&J's and the ones with the turn signal in the top. I don't care a whole lot for the large diameter ones- but that's just me. I think the dietz are priced right and I like the size. However, why are they so cheaply priced? Is it because they are cheaply made? Also, I'd like to use something that is vintage or original......lets see what you've got.

Im using 6" lucas 'king of the road' lights, off some early 50s english ****box.
the 'bullseye' pattern in the gl*** is really cool, and the gl*** has this funky pink tint to it.

I've got a set of '29 Chevy Firetruck chrome headlights, they are large. And a set of Japanese WWII blackout lights. Once I get my frontend together, we'll see which ones look better, then back on the shelf for the other set.

    Here they both are.

I dare you to say you don't like em.These are original new old stock (English)ford 7 v headlamps approx 1934.They are 10 inch and the coolest lamps i have seen bar those parabolic lamps on Cord roadsters and so forth. They also have jewels in the top to tell you lights are on and work real well with halogen bulbs .They also come with adjustable beam ..tell me you don't like em i dare ya.............Marq[IMG]

Those are just like the King Bee FOG lights - not the headlights. They take a 5.75 inch bulb and look just right mounted low on a low car. Very LSR.

Ok, here's a dumb question......can you get sealed beams for most of them......easily?

I know that Dietz isn't traditional, but they're priced juuuuuuust right! I can always replace them later.

Why is everyone so willing to pay big bucks for the E&J's....

    What are the Guide 682C's?

You must have some smart remark up your sleeve...:)

Actually, I can't say that I don't like them. They look just right on that truck with a top and larger grille. I'd like a similar design but a tad bit smaller for an open wheeled roadster.

the more common the headlight the cheaper the price, E&J are rare so prices are high. Guide 682-C (with the turn signal above) are hard to find (they are now at least) and happen to be the Hot thing now so the prices have gone up alot

The basic round 7" headlight can be found all over so they are cheaper.

I have used Autoroche lights since 1964. They are made in France, and accept a halogen bulb, and have an old style lens. You can find them on E-Bay every now and then - I bought the last set for $125, and that included an extra lens body.

  25. Thanks for the promo Flathead Youngin'... most of the pictures were of lights I have sold to H.A.M.B.r`s:D . The B-L-C 904A`s have just sold to OFT. I seem to have developed a headlight fetish in the last couple of years:p and have been trying out different types on the front of my deuce highboy. Just picked up a really rare set of Electroline 2200 series headlights. I would post some pictures but they are in getting chromed at this time but will add when I get them back. For some reason they seem to be the most wanted and expensive of all according to the bidding frenzy on the big "e" . There were 2 sets sold in the last couple of days check out these links, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=6565312698&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AITand

I managed to find mine at a local swap meet for several dollars cheaper :D.
I still have not decided which lights I will use and will decide after the Electroline`s come back from the chromer`s. I have a feeling that I may end up with a set of painted Guides as the Electrolines are to fancy for me. HB32

Not sure what make mine are but they look similar to the Guides. Only difference is they mounted from the side which I will have to sort out when I mount them on the 32 frame. These were off a White truck and have sealed beams.

I bought a set of BLC 904's this summer at a yard sale for $40, but they are missing the marker lenses on the top. Does anyone know where I can get replacements or repops?

I love 'em - especially on that truck - nice size and the proportions are spot-on.
I like BIG lamps. I'd like to find set like the ones pictured below - Lucas P-8,
I believe. And I would literally have to find them... I sure couldn't afford to buy a set!

  30. Good luck on finding them grumper. I sold a set of really nice 904A`s to a gentleman in Ontario for $50.00 for the same reason... no markers. They are next to impossble to find:eek: . The guide markers are relatively easy to pick up. HB32
