First off can anyone positivly ID these? Fenton? They're the right size and b/c for my poncho rear! These are the rims Eardy is checking on for me... there are two nice ones... and the other two are pretty rough. I wana find some rims for the front that'll go with these any ideas? 15"... just wondering what I should search for. They're going on my 60's styled A roadster w/ the HEMI in it. I havent drilled the b/c for the front yet so im pretty open to b/c options... ford/chevy... I'm gonna run whitewall slicks on the rear... I would like to get a narrow rim up front like 6"... any ideas?? Tuck
With the sharp-ridged spokes, and if it is a aluminum center/front on a steel rim, I think it would be a Fenton. Seems like someone else was making them like that, maybe Cragar? Dad has a pair of chevy pattern 14" like that, neat wheels.
Tuck so I take it you not in need of them 2 radir I have? I sort of was going to tell you I might end up keeping them due to the fact that I got them radir spinners on ebay a few days ago. They fit the '54 too anyhow I'll take tat '46 grill bar if you fnd it or maybe we can wheel in deal still! I see them fentons on ebay all the time, I'd go with some gloss black steelies and my other rims
I have seen a set looking almost identical to those that were Keystone from the late sixties. The spokes were real magnesium with the same shape and the generous hub face was the same. Almost snapped 'em up but they were 14". I have a pair of 15"x7 1/2" ET straight spoke mags that I was going to put in the classifieds this week if you're interested. The rim is polished and the spokes are cast. If you're heart is set on those others, have your buddy look on the back of the rim, that's where I saw the "Keystone" stamping.
abe... im on it dude. I've been playing phone tag with my friend that has a couple of those pickups. I'm gonna try and get your grill if you wana keep those mags that cool w/ me- ill still find out if hes got a grill for ya I really just wanted to get a set of rollers for the car and buy new radirs after I sell my bike. BUT. I really like that style mag in the first pic... it rules... and if I can match up a set that are close then ill prob keep em. hammy I sent u a pm. Thanks for the help guys! Tuck
well that SUX dude... that changes everything- i don't know of any cars in the area but ill check ~ Thanks, Tuck
abelugo, will check with a buddy of mine he had/has a pair of those grilles sitting around, not sure if he still has them. wasn't askin' much and they were in great shape and complete. will know more this weekend. oops that was post 666 hope that doesn't jinx this and
i know these pic examples are deeper than the ones you are looking at there, but I think those wheels look good mated up with a salt flat in the front or a 'rat fink' spoke. just some ideas
Most of those kind of wheels were made by Fenton or very early E.T. It's a very sensitive alloy on one side, and the back side is steel, they are tuff to ballance and very easy to destroy on an old time tire changing machine. The hole punched in the rim was probably cause by somebody trying to break the bead using an old machine. There were a number of other companys that made American Racing knock-offs; Rocket, Superior, A/R, Early Keystones and many others made that style wheel. The pictures of the gassers here, are using Halibrand and American wheels, not what your asking about. I'd stay away from them, they were junk when they were new! Shoe
Tuck , I know you got ur wheels but just for some info , Keystone -ET-Fenton and Crager were all made in BOTH steel back and all alum, the ones pic'd are Cragers I beleive I have one here for a ford,as well as all the above metioned and AR's,none are for sale, just info, trying to build enough sets for all my cars ,YA,LOL, I like em
