I love it! (is that a good enough comment? ) Man that is a sharp four doors! what does it run on? please tell me straight 8. either way I love it congrats on your car is beautiful!
Here's the story on this car: It was purchased new in Portland, OR in 1950 by Jack of Tillamook Oregon. He was a Tillamook County Sheriff and him and his wife named the car "Mrs. Daisey" After his wife p***ed away Jack sold the car in an estate auction in 1995 and it had 19,000 miles on it! The car was purchased by "Scott" from Tillamook, who only drove it once in a while and most of the time he owned he was stored in his dairy barn with a tarp over it. In Oct 2009 Scott drove the car up to Portland and it had 27,900 miles on it! I'm the 3rd owner and it just hit 28,000 miles! Pretty amazing aye!? The original Delco spark plugs, coil, and plug wires were still on the car! (I had to replace them the other day because it just wasn't running smooth enough) now its like a brand new 1950 Buick! She just flows down the road. Here's a couple pics of the original straight 8:
My grandparents drove 50-51 Buicks like this one for the entire 1950s and into the 60s. If it cratered, another would be found and driven to death. Great cars and memory makers too.
thats funny......teeth.... oh and I couldn't say anything but good things about this car. It's a great car !
That´s sweet-looking! There´s nothing quite like a true, mint-condition survivor...What model Buick is that, BTW? I see it´s the "tourback"-roof style, with the upright "C" -pillars, also available in Cadillacs of the same year.
That is a very nice looking super. I had a Riviera hard top which I was forced to sell to get some work done on my house, damn I miss that car.
I didn't realize, that all you have to say is "positive comments only", and that is all it takes. I will keep that in mind. Here is my "positive comment"-it is a nice looking car-I love the Buicks of that era.
well the original thread I started had some negative comments and it was taken down and everyone who was part of it got busted! Thanks for all the comments. I can't believe I have this car.. its just amazing
Hey 52!...Glad you reposted! Yeah guys, He posted these pics late last-night, and some of the replies were terrible...then POOOOF, the thread was gone. Again, dude...very nice looking Buick. But...your shoes are too shiny for you to know anything about cars! Hahahahahhahahaha!!!!! Don't worry guys...'52 knows what I mean, and knows I'm kiddin'. - Rick
whats funny is that I've actually have those shoes for a couple years and I cleaned the white rubber part with white wall cleaner! haha, and it worked very well!
Very nice original car. But, if you only want POSITIVE feedback, the HAMB is probably not the place to find it. I'd take the car in a heartbeat,so I won't comment on whether or not this is Detroit's crowning achievement in grill design. Nice shoes, too.
Heck yeah...I always clean my tennies with Wesley's. ....I've had a few early-fifties Buicks w/straight eights myself. Talk about a smooooooth runnin' engine. The stroke is so long, you can really idle 'em down. One old guy I know used to joke that you could almost read the writing on the fan-belt! One of my Buicks was a '51 Roadmaster Riviera 2-door. Lowered the rear, and put open exhaust all the way back. What a ride...loved that car. Good luck with yours, '52! - Rick
