If you can't decide Bob just letter one side, that way you have it both ways since you can't see both sides at the same time. Just kidding. I'd vote for no lettering, it's a street car. The only time I think lettering would be cool if it duplicated original lettering if it had a real gasser history. BTW I am going to push you to take it down the track this year!
For any one considering lettering- check with your dmv as some states only allow it with commercial plates. Jim
You could always do some compromising and tone it down a bit . Not so much the in-your-face billboard style on the door , but something smaller on the fender with a clean little "hemi" down behind the front wheelwell. Just a thought , it's your car and it looks great what you've done so far.
I like hand lettering ,here is the Falcon I had done by Tonys signs but........I can not stand gold leaf I think it belongs on Fire trucks!
I would say letter it. My car is just white primer sealer and hand lettering like an old drag car, and it draws more people than my shiny car ever thought of.
You have a bright vibrant red Henry J with a blower sticking through the hood. The car speaks for itself. It doesn't need to draw any more attention to it, as it's ALREADY an attention getter! It's a unique car, not like the Chevys, Fords, and other wannabes. If you just can't stand not doing something, philly the greek (who knows his stuff) posted a good idea there.... This is one car that just doesn't need any help. It's not suffering from "hey, look at me" syndrome. You've made the correct decision...
Thanks guys for all your great comments what I might do just for fun is have some vinyl gold leaf lettering made( I have a friend that will do this for me) and lay them down wet and see how they look and go from there !!
You can do what I did. You can have magnetic signs made up. I have signs for the name of the car and signs with my engine builder's shop name on it. When I'm racing or sometimes when I go to a cruise or show, I put them on. When I don't want anything on the car, I keep them off. Or sometimes I just have the name of the car on it. So far the only people that know that they are not painted or vinyl graphics are the ones I've told. Oh and for the record.... my car runs upper 10's and I've never had one come off.
