A friend of mine runs a local tattoo shop and wanted me to come up with a hot rod inspired T-shirt design for the business. He only asked me to do a pinstriped backdrop/surround (cause he knows I pinstripe), but I would like to have a font that goes with the look. My hand lettering skills are sub-par, so I was hoping someone here had a retro/hotrod type font in their computer that they could type out for me to use. For instance, I like the lettering on the Weezner Rodders Journal shirt. All I need is BUGABOO TATTOO If this is something you can do without too much trouble, you can E-mail it to me at hotrodhooligan@sbcglobal.net Thanks!
I could do it, but I'm busy.... Try searching off of Google.Com for fonts. I found Font.Com that has a lot, it would help you get a name for a font at least. There are a lot of web designers on here that might be able to help you. Chad is a guy that might be of help, try him!
Fontdiner.com has one that is pretty close. Will take some baseline shifting to put it all on the same baseline, but that's not difficult. Oddly enough the font is named called Fontdinerdotcom.
Not difficult for you computer types maybe. Peter Pan 'O Chi-town sent me a few, but I can't seem to use them. I figured once they have been downloaded into the computer, they would come up in with the rest of the fonts that are already in there, but they don't. If the font you found is close to what I'm after, could you possibly type out BUGGABOO TATTOO and just send it to me as a jpg? That way I could open it in photoshop to get it the size I need, and get this thing finished.
You can use this to get an idea of how to make the letters. You can type what you want it to say and choose the font. Don't know if it'll help you or not. http://www.houseindustries.com/index.php?page=showfont&id=12&subpage=lettersetter
I had similar situation involving MOM'S TATOO (just opened) here in Seattle, I traded tattoo work for developing their signage. When they showed me the type of lettering they preffered I had a real hard time finding it. So I went to Best Buy and looked at the bargain wall of software and found two $4.99 1000 font discs and it had the font I was looking for and much much more.
Chris, All you should have to do is load the fonts in the Font file in the control panel. Reboot and the fonts should show up in your Text file in Photoshop. I will try to send you a eps. file or Flexi file with the layout so you can export to Photoshop for manipulation. The only thing is I don't have anything that matches what you want yet. I put a call out to some other sign pals of mine to locate a Weesner styled "Rodders Journal" font you desire. I think I can score. I'll get back to ya. Joel
