    That's kinda why I quit lettering 20 years ago. I was working as a signpainters apprentice, and getting pretty good. The cheap vinyl hit big and nobody wanted to pay.

    We were' doing a lot of 'port of calls' - names on the back of boats - in Charleston harbor. I think we averaged about $300 a pop. If I remember right the local vinyl guy started doing them for about $50.

    I have a buddy now who makes a living traveling around and painting 'splashes' on new and used car lots - you know "NO CREDIT? NO PROBLEM!!". The guys is super talented, but most of the stuff he does now is flashy, flourescent stuff. That's what sells now I guess.
