Id like to see some pics of how others are setting up there front lever arm shocks. Mounting locations, dogbones etc. and how are they handling for you, tire hop etc? Heres mine. Handles amazingly until i hit about 70mph then my wheels are off the ground by about 4 inches...its crazy, they have plenty of travel and certainly arent bottoming out on smooth highways..no idea why, might be my tire combo. LETS SEE YOURS!!!!
A lot were converted to 50-50 valve action. also levers should be LEVEL at ride height. I did talk to some rebuilders they only do stock valveing this was real common 50s. found a guy who rebuilt these fo race cars has the tools. to old to do them now. he said he used stp and jack oil.
ive cut my dogbones down pretty sustantialy and im still about 10 degrees high of being level at ride height. I didnt do anything out of the ordinary, im using 32 perches, and i mounted the shocks right to the frame. not sure how else i couldve done it, or how i can fix without botching everything up.
Might be worth having a spin balance of your front wheel tire combo, unless there's more components causing imbalance or looseness.
Here are some shots of the Armstrongs that I used. It's been over 90mph, and no discernable issues. Drives and handles fine.
