Does anyone have experience with REBUILT or REPRODUCTION houdaille level shocks? Like the 30-32 style shocks not interested in the MG or any other style lever shock because i dont really like the look for my application. How is the ride quality? Better yet has anyone had rebuilt or reproductions houdaille shock and switch to tube shock on the same car? What did you notice ride wise? I am looking for responses from people that have 1st hand experience. Not my wife’s, brother’s, cousin had an original set on a car 30 years ago said they suck haha. I understand that today’s shock technology is better however what is the actual sacrifice in ride. Car will be a 32, sbc , split wishbone, transverse spring front and rear. Bias ply tires. Mainly interested in houdaille shocks on the front but also interested in how they work on the rear as well. I know there are other threads out there discussing these types of shock but not much about the actual ride quality. Thanks

I used a pair of Stipes shocks on the front of a 32 lakester chassis I did. I also used 35 pickup rear shock arms with links made out of SS heim joints. It's the second 32 chassis I've done with early lever shocks this way.
