Back in the day (20's - 40's) what were they using to attach the license plates to the brackets? Plain ol nuts and bolts? Rubber washers? Acorn nuts? Wing nuts? Or what? Also, what was used for pass throughs in firewalls? Did they have grommets back then? I was thinking of welding in a 1" piece of pipe to lay the wires in. Thanks.

By looking at old accessory lights and head lights, I would say they had grommets back then. Dont the Model As in stock form use a large square rubber grommet in the firewall? I bet the resto shops sell these.

Accessory reflector tag bolts like these were popular in the 30s and 40s. They reproduce the round ones in several colors. These are the only oval ones I've ever seen. They provide a little extra safety at night. With the wing nits do you thing they played a little license tag shuffle?:D

Wing nuts sure would make for easy swapping. Thanks.
