Wheelie bars would solve that problem. Imagine how fast it would go if you changed that nose lift into forward motion. Time to limit the lift rather then limit the leave.
I'm not a "serious" drag racer. I'm lucky to go 3 times a year. I'm not looking to go any faster in that old car. Little voice in my head keeps telling me, "ok Bill, that's fast enough". We've half *** got this car sorted out now. It's been 3 years getting to this point with this new engine, actually 4, after covid almost took my wife's life. Like it or not drag racers are show-offs. I'll be able to sit in my easy chair when I'm 90 yrs old and look at that picture and say, "Yep, on the day after my birthday in 2021, I stood that old Studebaker on it's ***."
I believe I'll make a hard copy of that and hang it on my garage wall right next to Mike Coger's ( @southcross2631 ) all four off the ground launch in " School's Out ".
Very cool photo. Make sure to put a nice large poster size in your garage. For motivation when working on the car. Sent from my SM-A102U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I'd say that there will be some stude freaks saving that wheel stand photo to see if they can blow it up poster size.
Well, I got the beast pretty well under control by the end of the week. Leave around 23-2400 and it doesn't get up on it's haunches too bad and carries the fronts for 60 or 80 ft. or so. Damn fun once I grew the nads to do it.
