Life magazine never seen photo archive released

    Cool pic. Those painted manifolds are going to hurt a lot of restorers feelings...lol

    This has to be late 50's. I can see some 348/409's over there. What an amazing shot!

    Looking at these pictures gets me all nostalgic and stuff. Seeing the picture of Henry standing there with the A, T and the 50 really makes one wonder what if... It looks like the Rouge River plant, and I would bet a lot of beans it is. Seeing that massive structure in full production mode must have been humbling to say the least. That was a sign of Americas power, strength and fortitude. We probably had very little dependence on foreign items, excluding oil. That is a time in American history that will never be witnessed again and it is depressing!

    I don't want to change the direction of this thread but I just wanted to jot down my thoughts. These pictures are amazing and I am grateful that TIME has taken the time to open the archive.

    My Father and Uncle built that car for Frank Pennington. It was featured on the cover of the March 1961 issue of "Rodding and Re-Styling" magazine.
    I would like to get any info on where you found that pic or if you know of any more.
