I was messin' around today and found this set of flared bottom skirts. I got them to fit the body good but they'll drop a few inches while driving. I was thinking of drilling s small hole at the bottom & thru the quarter panel and using a small screw and wingnut on the inside, to keep the skirt in position. Dose anyone have another suggestion to keep them in position before I drill'em? They don't have the lever like the stock skirt, just the two tension rods at the bottom like a shoebox skirt. I think they'll look good once they're primed & they follow the bottom of the quarter better than the stock skirts. Whacha think? Billy
Weld a small point (tip/bung) near the bottom of the skirt, drill a hole into/thru the front of the wheel well, slip "point" into drilled hole...holds the front on...now weld a small "tab" to the rear of the skirt and a like "tab" to the wheelwell...drill both to accept a small nut and bolt...slip the skirt in place, fix your tension rod and "bolt" the rear in place....it won't go anywhere and it won't rattle!!! Adhesive back Velcro. The fuzzy side alone makes good hood welting too. But just to keep them from sliding, you still need the bolts you're using now
Thanks for all the tips guys. I wound up making new tension rods for the skirts that extend down to the lower lip of the quarter. It was about 3 hrs of trial & error but it was worth it not having to drill them. They're tuff getting on but they fit good now & aint gonna fall off. Thanks again guys. Billy
