For those of you you hav'ent been to our show and want to race your car or vintage bike, for a car you must have a radiator catch can, a batery hold down, a seat belt and a helmet, if you do'nt have a helmet, we will try to lend you one, for bikes, you must have a jacket, boots, gloves, helmet, and full length pants or chaps, it's forty bucks to race.

Well it looks like the pre-party is going to start earlier this year, racing go´s from 12 noon to 5 p.m. and is free to watch, if you've got trigger foot and want to race on friday, then contact Bob from So. Cal. paint works, the buy in is a hundred bucks and they are 10 guys signed up so far, this is a test and tune, so if you are breaking in a new car, it's a perfect time to dial it in, for it's like having you're own private track and you can get a lot of pases in , contact Bob at 619-449 2500 if you interested so he can sign you up for the racing, we will be having two bands playing friday evening, The Bobby Sanchez Combo and Roadnoise, if you are racing saterday, try to get there friday evening so you can get a good pit area, there is free camping friday and saterday night, so if you are planning to camp, come friday so you can get a good spot, you are wellcome to bring a bar-be-que, but it must be propane due to the fire hazard, no open fires or fire rings, there are no hook ups available for R.V.'s, you are wellcome to bring your'e own beer, booze, bev. and food, but please no glass bottles. There is grudge racing saterday and is open to pre 74 cars, it's 40 bucks to race on saterday, general admision is 15 bucks for the two days and kids are cheaper, there is no charge to enter your car in the car show, but you must pay your'e admision fee.

Hopefully I can get my truck to hook up this year. That truck is really light in the back. Maybe fill the bed with some bodies.
    Love this show.....
We'll be there Friday thru Sunday

I think the best part of the show is the location, Barona is a magical place, as you drive up the hill and drop down into the valley, there it is, Hot Rod Nirvana, like an abstract painting , you see this old fifties track nestle in between these two canyons with cars hauling ass to a vanishing point, It's on an Indian Reservation, for the Indians have the right idea, their idea of progress is leaving things alone, it's has'ent been mared with concrete and square buildings, this place has caracter, the track with it's old wooden bleachers almost sings of races gone by, the area is layed out on differ'ent tiers wich offers you a fantastic view of the track, and is contrasted with huge boulders the size of a house, the suroundings are peaceful and relaxing and makes you forget your problems, The best part is at night, as you sit and bench race with your buddies , and as you bend your head back to sip your beer , you see this pitch black sky riddled with stars you have never seen in your life as you listen to the sounds of the bands echo off the cayon walls, you are not confined to a certain spot and you can walk to the different camp sites and check out the cars and meet new people, It's the freedom you feel as you wander around and contemplate on how life used to be, simple and uncomplicated.

Likewise, and thanks. Hopefully I'll be doing T&T this year in my OT car. I'm just working on the nitrous kit right now. If I can't get it figured out I'll still be out there taking photos and having a good time. I'm just now finally starting on the '52 again this weekend, once I can get the front clip done (which is the biggest hurdle for me). I should be able to make some good headway on it this summer.

a lot of guys get lost every year on their way to Barona, so if you are coming north of san Diego, hear is the easiest way to arrive, take the 5 or the 15 or the 805 south to the 8 east, as you get into El Cajon, take the 67 north to the secound signal light on the freeway, that's willows rd. make a right, you will see a Circle K there, buy youre beer there because they don't sell beer on the Barona Indian Reservation , head east on willows rd. to the first stop sign, make a left and take wild cat cayon rd. up the hill, when you get to the top , you will see the Barona Casino, keep heading north aboat 4 miles, you will see the track on your left side.

Rats!:( Sorry Miguel, I'm gonna have to miss this one. I have to stay here in town to look after my sick dog. I was really looking forward to this.

The silver lining in this cloud is that now I can go to the nostalgia night drags here in Phoenix on Saturday night.
