so im looking at building a flathead, was looking at lifters. what's your guys opinion between the - Modern Johnson Style witch are solid adjustable, compared to the hollow adjustable......I will be bouncing around on here hoping some of you guys can help me on my way, such as cam choice and cranks.....but first the lifters.....thanks
There is a thread on the "Ford Barn" where we are trying to figure this out. No resolution as of yet. Stay tuned. "Gosfast" is involved.
Hollow adjustable style with the slots in the lifter body make adjustments a breeze when there is a hole drilled in the lifter boss to insert a straight punch to keep the lifter from turning. Also I would think the lighter your valve train, the less inertia you have to worry about at higher rpms.
