Last night I tinkered a bit with the shift linkage and found nothing wrong with my adjustment. What seemed odd was the shift lever was Not catching reverse but was flipping over to the 11 o‘clock position, the only gear that went in was 1st. ( Not 2nd, like I had thought). So I removed the cap from the shift selector to see how that ‚s supposed to work, an then it was obvious: the selector finger had been forced out of the two shift forks that acutate the shift rods to the transmission. So it was clear why it was only able to put in 1st but nothing else. My best guess is, the either forgot to unhook one of the shift rods when they pulled the engine, or it just jammed itself against something and theyjust kept going .
Now the transmission shifts perfectly smooth and precisely , just as @50chevytx had told me
I still need to find a 6v generator, I called around , but they are not as plentyfull as I had thought.

It took me almost 2 days of asking buddies if they had a 6v Delco Generator until I found one... that´s how rare they are. Hahaha... Mike is sending me one, should be here in a couple days. I only did a few short trips , but this thing is much more fun than it should , considering the cost involved.

She actually asked me if she could go for a test drive, but there´s no generator in there and therefore also no belt on that would turn the waterpump. But her test drive will happen one of the next days I´m sure. There will be photo evidence!

I had the new, used generator replaced by a well seasoned Chevy technician. He said, it was ok and charging. Thanks to @flatordead for the quick shipping and great service!
