Lil Daytona 500 or Red Neck 500

Every New Years Day a group of local guys get together and have a fun race.The admission charged is whatever you want to give to a local charity.As you can see some of these guys are pretty serious about this race.

This was the 09 Race!

Any year or model...no classes...no protest...Danica Patrick can drive...passengers are allowed...just race until you are tired and have fun!

Looks cool! If I was closer,I'd be right over for some of that. Hope they didn't bash up that '64 Ford...

 

Get some more info on here... I have a disposable car (parts car)

This! these guys really know how to have a ton of fun. We'd like to get a car entered one year.

 

These remind me of a "clandestine event", that's been held up here for many years, the annual "Sip and Pass"!

This race is invitation only! They are afraid that someone would end up suing them.This race had a broken leg or ankle ....one of the Ford sedans went airborne and hit a tree.As you can see by the photos,these guys are racing for real.

 

What you gotta do for an invite?

We do the same thing here at my place. We have a track setup beside my moto-x track. We do it at least twice a year. Call it the Beater Nats. Only rule we have is every car has to have a kid in it, of course with a helmet and belted in properly. This keep jerks from races too hard and keeps from anybody going upside down You would not believe what comes out of the kids mouthsWe all buy the same sized cars. Weve had minivan races and 4 cylinder races. Its a hoot! I'll try to add pics to this thread if thats ok?
