I'm torn between a Watson style panel/scallop job and a straight forward two-tone. The pearl white is staying and the second color will be metalflake light blue to atch the interior moldings. Right now I'm liking chrome steelies with spiders and wide whites, maybe with the centers blue.

I can do the photochopping myself but I'd like some fresh ideas. Plus I don't want to play by myself. :)

These are the only photos I have right now.

    Thanks guys!

White w/ Blue top. And the wheel idea you have with the centers painted to match the top!

Dude, youshould cut your top off and send it to Jackson, TN. Love the top on that thing. WOuld love to graft one on top of my 63 impala (like the CR car this month, only they used a 60 fury). I also love your wheel choice. That is what I am leaning towards on the Imp with black wheels instead of white. Great car! Send the top quick please. Or just tell me where to pick it up!

I'm thinking blue flake roof with matching wheel centers and spider caps. Definatly wide whites! Don't break those beautiful body lines into panels. Scallops? Maybe just some kick ass pins! Love that ride! Just my 2 cents.

I think it would look cool with the top and outline of where the fin molds into the side all painted black. Almost look like an orca I suppose, but still cool I think. Someone should photochop that!

  7. simple watson-esque panels... fogged in edges of course.
ice blue pearly flaky roof with maybe a foggy panel or two.

I love '60 Fords, really a cool, futuristic, overlooked car.

I'd like to help with a Photoshop but my skills in colorchanging just aren't there. I can only cut stuff up.

I'd like to see the white stay on the roof, and do the bottom in two shades of blue, in a pattern like this Watson-painted '57 Plymouth. Chrome steel wheels with the blue centers would look nice. I'll buy those spiders if you're not going to use them....

  9. I'd put chrome reversed wheels on it and then leave it the way it is...

  10. Fuck it, If I were you, I would just sell it to me for a reasonable price....

How about the new mustang green?

I could see maybe using fogged-edge panels on the sides, to accent the way the body rolls over on itself. Even that seems too busy to me, though. There is so much detail in the body contours, I see panels/scallops fighting the car for attention.

Two tone it, bag it and roll it. When can I come look at it...

OK, don't laugh. All I hav is MS Crapaint to work with, and I am not even very good with it. It does show basically what I was trying to suggest... well, maybe kinda. I tried to do some sort of red pinstripe big centerpiece on the front center of the hood, but it REALLY looked rediculous (as opposed to the rest!). Maybe one of you photochop masters can take this and fix it.

Pink looks so good on white cars when faded.

    I agree whole heartedly.

I love that car just as she sits, why not just drive her for a while and then slowly customize it as you go?

That's where my head was for the Watson style but maybe the opposite. More white than blue. Looks cool!

another vote for a blue roof, leave the strip on the side of the roof where the three stars are white though, stops it looking too heavy.
the other thing that needs doing is pull the headlights and grille, and paint in behind them flat black. the white in there ruins the look of the front..one of my pet hates is body colour in behind grilles, it shits me for some reason...like the painter thought 'I know, ill do that and be cleverer than the designers who laboured over this front end treatment and busy it up no end'
    but then again im odd.
    Damn nice car Kirk. jealous.

  23. why follow the crowd? Why not raise the ass end a little, drop the front a bit, and put a set of torque thrust II's on it with poly glass wide ovals with the white letters out. Something you'd have had in high school, if you'd had the car and the money.

Always loved the Starliner... second on my list only to the '63 Riviera as drop-dead gorgeous right out of the factory... So, I went simple with a tube grille, painted steelies to match the subtle panel scallops, and sat it down on the deck.... does it really need any more than that? (OK, maybe some 'flake on the roof... and organ pipe speaker grilles!)

Looking good. It'll definitely be dragging ass. Already ordered the tube grille and the organ pipes. Great minds think alike.

  30. Well. When you drive it up here for the HOTROD-A-RAMA next week we can talk about what you should do with it. Looks cool Kirk---------------
