Is it normal for the limeworks column and drop to fit really tight? I’ve tried grinding and lubrication but the drop doesn’t slide smoothly down the column. It’s one piece, any advice ?

I've used quite a few 1.5 diameter Limeworks drops and always had to spread slightly to get them to fit. We've always left them on and just masked them off when we paint the column.

What are you using to spread? I’ve tried twisting a screw driver in the slot to open it up, but still tight. I wanted to leave it bare metal so I didn’t want to force it. I guess I’ll just paint it if I mark up the column.

Pull the clamp bolt and insert it into the threaded side. Slip a washer in the slot so the bolt will contact the edge. Gently tighten the bolt and it will spread enough that you can slip it on even after it is painted. D
