How is she ??????? Man she was great we had a great time . and if she had been there she would say so
It would be very nice if he would give her back the Olds as a gift and treat the 42K as a donation back to her.
I had the same thought. Maybe he will do that. Would be a hell of a nice gesture. You could see she was pretty attached to that car.
1979. She had three of them, one is in a collection somewhere and one belongs to , I believe her nephew, chime in if that's wrong. And yeah, shame on Hurst if they didn't help out with med. bills. Maybe they did. don't know. She is an Icon.
I felt bad for Linda on Barrett Jackson. Her voice was very raspy and she said it was because she had been crying. You could see how hard it was for her to let the car go. She is a very cl***y woman. G***er Girl
As I recall Vic bought all that a few years ago. with all the short gaveling done by Spanky last night he cant aford it today.
She has been the sweetest and most personable representative for any company or organation I have aver met. Every time I have talked to her she has left a lasting impression. She isn't just a cl*** act, SHE IS THE CL*** ACT
I agree that Craig from BJ should give it back to her. God knows he has enough money and has made enough off of us car guys. Maybe we should send him a few (thousand) emails, nice ones, suggesting that to him if he hasn't already thought about it. Maybe just say "Thank you for winning Linda's Olds, and wondering if you have thought of giving it back to her as it means so much to her." I saw her on there and felt so bad for her, she looked drained and tired. It is a real sign of the economy that even charity cars like hers are not bringing much money........like that one for the blind Veteran guide dogs. In better times the guys with money would have opened up their wallets. Hope Linda's surgery goes well, she seems like a cl***y, super nice lady. Don I just went on BJ's site and there is a section for email comments. I sent the following message to Craig: To Craig: It was very wonderful of you to bid and win Linda's Hurst Oldsmobile. Thank you for helping a very nice lady out in her time of need, We all felt bad for her to see her give up the Olds, which evidently meant a lot to her. Are your plans to keep it or to surprise her by returning it to her? That would be the best medicine for her, I bet. Thank you again. He seems to be a nice guy, so he already may be thinking of it. (I hope )
I'm in complete agreement with you folks, give it back to the lady. It was painful for me to watch her letting go of her Cutl*** accompanied by tough health and medical money issues. I'm sure her Medicaid part A and part B aren't going to do any charity move for this lady. Someone in the chain of her past sponsor(s), the auction, and anyone with some sense of decency needs to stand up for this lady. It was indeed the saddest moment for me to watch the stripping away of her Cutl*** on national (maybe international) TV.
So...let's get those e-mails out to Craig. I'm sure he is a decent guy, and will understand the sentiments of the car culture community that has provided his income over these years. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/contactus.aspx ...
From 1970 to 1987 Hurst was owned by Sunbeam Appliances and George Hurst had been kicked out. The Mr. Gasket group bought Hurst in 87 and then Gasket sold Hurst to B&M in 2007 - basically Hurst no longer has anyone who was part of it during the hey day when Linda was there. WHAT ????? Good Idea
