Yeah it's on the net. Penn Central owners were quite a bunch spending a lot of money on all sorts of non railroad stuff. Including girls. She was one of them

"who cares......leave it alone, show some god damn respect!!"

"Don't think we need details. This lady is a class act. Her business is just that, her business."

Linda Vaughn is a public figure (no pun). That makes "her business" our business if it interests us. We are her long-time fans and that only arouses our curiosity. I don't see any disrespect whatsoever towards her talking about this. Nobody is perfect.

"Might not be the same LV - There is also a Linda Vaughn who was born in 1959 and was the April 82 PB Playmate"

Nope, it's our Linda Vaughn, alright.

"According to a congressional investigation, Penn Central's top executives also spent plenty of company dough securing the companionship of comely young women. Congressman Wright Patman fumed that this was "one of the most sordid pictures of the American business Community that has ever been revealed in official documents." Among the names named was a buxom model named Linda Vaughn, who was well known in auto-racing circles for riding around the racetrack clinging to a giant gearshift replica before the starting flag."

There are two sides to every story. Linda has hers.

P.S. I have to give that old General credit: he had great taste! ;)

SHEEEZZZ...Did you work for Penn Central ?? Nobody is crucifying her. So she did some partying when she was young. BFD. Good for her. That pic of her with the Railroad guy speaks volumes.

  9. No its real simple: We want and have been tryin to get these ICONS to come on the HAMB like Jungle Pam,Rod Powell etc. so digin up things like this outa there past is just plain disrespectful.Hell yeah a hotty like her is sure to have a past and Im sure she put smiles on alotta guys faces but why bring up that shit here?

No it's even simpler. The Thread is about her. So P426 talked about some of her past. Ya get the good with the bad. That would be cool if she came on here, but it's not the end of the world if she doesn't . Are you saying that she is ashamed of her past ? She Has made a career out of mini skirts and low cut shirts. She sounds like a nice lady by what some here have said on the HAMB and I'm sure she is.....

I agree, what's the point? I'm not star stuck by Ms Vaughn, but she isn't running for public office so her past is of no issue here.

Why do some feel like they have to tear someone down instead of having a good time with everyone else? Oh well, they can just go eat a plate of shit!

But for the rest of us, enjoy! :)

Why? Because this is a Linda Vaughn THREAD.

"I read a recent article talking abut current & past economic problems. One of the segments was about the collapse of the Penn Central Railroad back in the mid 70s. It mentioned a sex scandal involving the PCRR & Linda V. was mentioned by name!"

    That's "why"!

Relax dude! NO ONE is 'tearing' her down! You want to pretend certain realities don't exist? Go right ahead! Discussing less-than-favorable history of any celebrity is not, per se, disrespectful, etc. People like you are making this a bigger deal than it really is.

A member by the name of George commented:

    then asked:

    Anyone heard any details?

So, I decided to contribute to the thread after doing some research (Internet's great, ain't it?) and supplied some of the details. Nothing more.

As far as your favorite 'dish' is concerned, I say: bon appetit!

    I'll pass. :D

    Pete

P.S. Oh, by the way, thanks for the great Linda pix! I still admire her just the same, regardless of any long-ago (circa 1969) scandal.

We all have a past.........I am sure most have things we wish didn't happen. I know I do. The old saying comes to mind.....mind your own business, cuz I'll be minding mine.

  18. Linda, scandal or not is still #1.

The part I like about this is finding out she was actually doing somebody. Lucky bastard. As they say, "What's wrong with this picture? I'm not in it!!!!!!!".

  19. You know, I thought at first who cares? Its just history, but then you posted about Jungle Pam and the light bulb lit up.
Yeah, lets leave this well enough alone. I'm a HUGE Pam fan and I know how offended and how bloodied someone would be by besmirching Pam's good name like this.
A true fan dosent need to hear this carp true or not.
    Doc.

I LOVE LINDA. Always did, always will. She is an icon of automotive history. Maybe she didn't invent/build/drive or whatever, but you have to admit, look at some of the pictures of her at the track and you are transported back in time. It is 1968 all over again, or 1977 or whenever...she is timeless, and so is the feeling she gives us. That is why she has been in our hearts for damn near 50 years. She is, and always will be the first lady of racing...and my perfect woman.

As an Oldsmobile guy, I'd be very interested in obtaining one as well.

Here's a pic of Linda and I at Seattle circa 1987
