Mine is probably close to that and I'll up you machine shops and other industrial applications before the Oklahoma Saddle Horse Association had too strong a hold on industry. LOL[/QUOTE]

Beano, I had the industrial things going on too, damn we seem to have too many things in common! o_O:rolleyes:;)

    You gotta' be kiddin'!!
Low speeds around town is for good vibes,------BUT, out on the line chasin'----Its motor tunes with glances at the gauges once in a while.
However, going across country, I have my ear phones & stereo to keep me smiling.--------Don

I don't think I would have told that brother.:D

  4. My hearing is very screwed up, even oldies sound terrible, so I listen to the motor while I can still hear that.
PS. I have to run old fashioned glasspacks, because I can remember they sounded good. I can't tell what the modern stuff sounds like, so I don't know if I want their sound on my vehicle. Does that make sense?

  5. Yes it does. I just stopped in from the garage for a moment, I had the stereo cranked up to max and was not sure that it sounded like I remember.

Some newer mufflers sound Ok and some does not. At least that is what I can tell, I still prefer the sound of an old glass pack. funny my dad preferred steel packs. LOL

  7. I've heard some of the "music" a lot of you guys listen to. I'd sure prefer a leaky muffler over that stuff.

  8. What, 'Feedback' from 'Live/Dead' doesn't float your boat? LOL.....

99% of the time I just listen to the engine and the never ending skweeks hot rods have. However, last weekend on my drive to Dubuque for Torque Fest I brought my MP3 player and wifi speaker. That was a long drive so it was nice to listen to some good metal and hot roddin' music.

  10. Actually, I'd like that stuff. I've beed a Dead head from the word, Drop.

The roadster is too loud so a sound system is out of the question and I wouldn't want it any other way. I find driving my hot rod to be the analog cure to the digital world. When I'm driving, I am thinking about nothing, just taking in the sights, sounds and sensations. That being said, I drive from the Bay Area to LA quite often and the sound system of my daily driver is an absolute necessity. Two different worlds.

I like to do both, when I am tired of what is coming through the radio I can turn it off and listen to the motor.

Like someone said "you can always turn it off but only if you have one. I would really miss my Sirius/XM on my morning commute.

This is a tough one as I love the sound of a mean motor but I also love a cranked stereo with my favorite music. Cable or electric operated exhaust baffles ?

  19. LOL I have never been a dead head ( I don't think) but I did work security at one of their concerts once. The back stage action was pretty intense. :D

Now a little Coe, some Silver Bullet Band ( I can't remember the rest of the name) or some very old credence I can abide that real well. yea yea I know I'm all over the place. That my friends is why I don't have a damned stereo.

I left the face of the stock radio in the dash of my Linc to keep it looking stock. I plan on a AM/FM to hide in a center console behind a door so it won't be noticed unless the door is open. Speakers will be hidden in the rear shelf and under the dash. When the wife is with me, we seldom have a radio on in any vehicle, figure this one to be the same. Mostly will be for solo trips for the few times it will be on. I have XM in my semi, it's on anytime I'm in the truck, usually on Radio Classics channel 82. Thought about adding one to the Linc, but no more than it would get used it isn't worth it.

Always have the tunes blasting pretty good in the barn, Bose Bluetooth speaker and Pandora radio from my phone. I stick pretty much to the blues, and when I hear one that doesn't do it for me, I pick up the phone and hit "thumbs down". It didn't take very long and I'm only hearing what I want.

Like some of the others here, my old cars are too loud to be able to enjoy anything other that the exhaust noise.

My 37 Chevy p/u is almost too loud to hear the stereo but that problem will be solved with some quieter mufflers after it gets a set of rod bearings, those very short glass packs are getting more annoying the older I get so its time to find a pair that are more appealing to the ears. I know I will also have wind noise issues since it was never made with door seals but that problem will be addressed when it gets a new interior.
