Guys I am looking for a little help. My friend needs an intake manifold from Newark Ohio and the guy who is selling it on FB marketplace won't ship it even if we cover expenses and materials. Is there a HAMB member out in that area that might be willing to help out? This is an Offenhauser 4 bbl intake for a 273 C.I. which will only fit a 1964/65 273 engine. We would be willing to cover your expenses to pick it up, pack it up and ship it. My buddy doesn't want to use a 318 manifold and rework the bolt holes to fit his car. Open to other ideas as well if someone has some experience with the 65 273 engine.

You might want to change that to reflect that you need help from someone in that area. Google Map says that Newark is 40 miles east of down town Columbus. I'm pretty sure we have one or two in that area.

I don't get guys who sell an item that size for the price they are probably asking who refuse to ship it. I can see it on big items like fenders or heavy items like engine blocks but you can wag that down to the UPS customer service center and have them pack it and it all is on your buddy's dime not the shippers.

FedEx will pack and ship an item. All you have to do is take it to to a FedEx location and pay for it. Not the cheapest way but you'd think the seller would at least be agreeable to do that.

    Gordon.
Change your topic to “help at Newark Ohio”.
I’m sure there are quite a few hambers in that area that will help.

Again, long shot. You are one hour from my daughter. I am an hour or so from the intake. She was going to come up for spring break. With the price of gas...........she was reconsidering. Maybe if we gave her the shipping costs to bring it back to where she lives.......(Jacksonville NC).

A lot easier if someone closer would just ship it but if no one steps up I'll see what she is planning.

Wasn’t sure I’d ever see my hometown in the title of a HAMB thread. Born and raised in Newark, Ohio but left after college in 1980 and haven’t lived there since. Hope you find your transport.

Wvenfield appreciate it but don't worry too much about it. Thanks.
