Great episode. The best was when Dave's Lil girl said " Its DADDY " when he came home (a true Hallmark moment)

I haven't seen the program yet but imagine it has the same formula as the others(Boyds show/American choppers) everyone has a role to do.
It's tv and edited to get the biggest bang for the buck.
I got to get one of my sons to record the shows for me so I can see this young lady everybody is ragging on.
Ryan ought to get a show with Plowboy, Littleman,Denise,me (I can bitch&whine better than anyone) and a couple others from the
HAMB and put it on Discovery(The H.A.M.B Rod Shop).

That quote speaks volumes .. I don't know yah "littleman"
But I'm sure your read these threads...

No matter the outcome of the storyline, family is all that matters
you are a hero to those that count, not us

  8. As far as the show goes, I don't get worked up over the stuff that isn't in there for us car guys. This isn't a pbs show, these folks need to see some return on what they are putting out there.

I personally liked seeing how Dave's daughter reacted when she realized her dad was home after being gone so long. He looks to have a nice home, a nice wife and child. He has a great shop and cars that are incredible. This guy is living the American dream. Congrats to Dave for living the dream.

This was my point exactly. That little girl speaks volumes of what kind of person Dave is. Even though I have never met him, I would say he is a soild dude.

Well, I usually don't chime in too much on these sorts of threads, but I figure... hell... why not?

Daves stuff is great. He's obviously a true believer in the ideology that "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right".

Things can always be done quickly, and satisfactorally too.... but why would you do that? I'm all with Dave on this one.... if it's gonna somehow have MY NAME attached to it, I want it to be done the best way possible no matter how much time it takes.

Yeah, the bean counters will be mad.... but they won't cry when there's a new group of SERIOUSLY HIGH BUCK customers who request work to be done by someone like Dave, NO MATTER THE COST because it will be done perfectly.

As for the chick, yeah, she's annoying.

I'm all for girls being a part of the field, and I think it rules... but there's a certain level of experience and skills that one needs to do this stuff efficiently, correctly, and safely. Being the child of someone who was into cars doesn't make you a friggin' mechanic, you know?

If I were making the calls I'd ditch that chick, recommend that Dave drop too and just start up his own shop, and that people start worrying less about ratings, and more about building.

    Either way, CONGRATS Dave!!!

  13. The little guy with yellow glasses has to be Jimmies pic or their is somehting wrong with that show. I realy don't care for the sniveling girl and the stupid drama she brings, just do what they tell you and get the job done. That could be a great show without Hollywood getting involved. Thanks I'm vented..... Rags

yep...... some neat rides in the fellows garage.. a few trolls sitting around would be good.

Get rid of that dumb ass , whiny , sniveling female. Gawd damn , enough of her already!

  15. I generally don't like to talk bad about anyone, but I think you're on to something there. I think they would put up with her if she could do what she claimed.

It all could be creative editing though also to make "good tv". Who knows for sure?

Thanks all for the kind words, for I am not worthy..........a master.....well to tell you the truth I am far from that and am as novice as they come....I think if you think you know it all, then you really know nothing......i am just a backyard builder that is self taught just like my friends are. Yes, I have some equipment that in over time I have been lucky enough to pick up when I came across a deal. Why my wife agrees to me purchasing something I have no clue on how to run or use and watches me get frustrated untill I figure it out and that makes her the best........I bought a tig machine and did not know how to use it, same with the lathe and the mill. I try to find the deals and look at them as an investment into myself, if you do not push yourself you cannot expect to advance or go anywhere. I learned that if I could learn to use these machines, they would only allow me to push the envolope of ideas in my head. Its an awsome freedom to think of it and then make it, it gets no better than that for me. I have never aspired to have my own shop, basically because I have never thought I was good enough to work on other peoples stuff....

As for the show it was a blast to do, I never felt like I was on a show, but just working with Jimmy at the So-Cal Speed Shop.....I drove out to California and treated it as a job and not as a part and was hell bent on being just me and true to myself.......I went out to bust my ass and give them all I had.......I did not go to compete with anyone...Yes quiting my job of 15 yrs. really sucked but I do not regret it. I can now grow old and never look back wondering why I never gave it a shot and passed on it. My wifes strength and support made my absence from home for over 6 months possible, I owe it all to my wife and daughter, they are way tougher than me...maybe even crazier than I..

Working with Jimmy, Pete, Sara, Mark, Ritchie and the regular So-Cal crew was a treat. We had good times and bad..Some of the difficult times came across real well in the last episode......I wish nothing but the best to all of them! Mark , Richie, Sara, Jimmy and myself experienced alot in a very short period of time, we found ourselves in a situation that none of us had ever really been in......So their were some undefined boundries...........but plain as day.......Jimmy was in charge and was the boss.....Jimmy is truely a Hot Rodder and Pete has to be one of the koolest bosses around ! I know everyone involved with the show learned something, whether it had to with fabbing or the other aspects to building a car to learning something about themselves......I would agree that as a viewer of the show you would be hard pressed to learn alot about car building, but they really never claimed to sell the show as that type of show......I view the show when you do for the first time, and I have questions of the editing and revisits of the same scenes throughout the show..and fond that to be the biggest complaint... But have come to realize its their show and dollar producing it along with their risk.....And look at it this way, when I build a car, its my way my vision. Call it our artistic freedom our style ect. Editing is the same thing, its art and their vision....No two producers see the same thing and same goes for the editors....but will say this, the production company knows of the Hamb, and more than likely pull their feed back from every source possible.....and it would be up to them to use a place as such as the Hamb as a tool to improve their show if they deemed it necessary or worthy.T.V. is much bigger than I ever knew or will ever understand.......Everyone that I have come into contact with that had anything to do with the show has been great, its a large machine. For me the shows have gotten better, if they go to another season and learned anything, they can only get better......

In the end, I would have never guessed I would have done anything like this.........I see myself on T.V. and laugh and can only think, boy I am one ugly sob..........Like I have written in the past, Its funny that I even did it, because I do not like any kind of attention, end enjoy maintaining a low profile, which is easy when your short, ha ha................and like to fly just under the radar in general.

Thanks again for your support, I met alot of Kool Hambers while out on the West coast........ only like five more episodes left and you will not have to see my ugly mug again...............Later, Dave Littleman Lohr

This, as a mission statement, is what stands out about Dave on the show... His mind is always open to learn / glean from who ever he comes in contact with...... This is what makes a great Hotrod Builder.....

    Dave,

You are smart, curious, talented and are fortunate to have a wonderful family.

You are great on the TV show.

Keep having FUN turning your "visions" into COOL cars.

Always in life, you know that "MORE SHALL BE REVEALED".

Good things are just around the corner for you.

Very cool Dave.... very cool indeed. I remember a Monster Garage episode where Jesse asks Dave Simard (East Coast Customs) if he knew what he was doing.... and Dave replies something to the affect, "I'm learning". The truly talented are often truly modest also.

All I can say is Dave is the MAN!

  30. Man I've been watching the show and had no idea who Dave was. Didn't see the last one, I Tivo them. I will go home and watch it now. I followed the DDS build and thought it was the coolest, and on the show I was most impressed with Dave as a hot rodder, seemed like he was a tad "over qualified" compared to his associates, but didn't know he was the famous "littleman", too fucking cool. Ok I'm gonna go and catch up on the episodes. Congrats Dave, well done.
