Littlemans rides on Hard Shine!!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Big Tony, Aug 17, 2007.

  1. Littleman gets... two greasy thumbs up from me.

He should consider opening up his own shop?

  2. I bought lots of bolt on **** and didn't get the right stuff to make my car run right. At least it looks less gay with the lowering springs. I really enjoyed watching Dave flip the rice boy **** for missing half his injectors. You only got 4 injectors where'r the other 4?

We all know Littleman is the person most undeniably qualified for the job. His knowledge is there, he's meticulous, and takes his time. I would love to have an employee like that, because tightening up production speed would be NO problem. And that seems to be Shines's problem with Littleman. Which means one of two things, Dave didn't wan't it, or Shine's a little intimidated. I mean face it, DDS is the baddest mother****er on the block!

I caught that part, he was telling the kid that he had to work holidays. Yes, he did use himself as an example. BUT I repeat, he did tell the kid to choose. It pissed me off too.

    Dave,
You have talent and a cool personality. Not **** kissin, just stating the facts. Good job!

  7. One thing I don't understand is how they can consider eight hours a day for four weeks a challenge to complete a portion of a car. Look what most of us do in a couple hours per night over the course of a month. Dave is the only one on the show capable of doing the work needed on the projects they do there.
I agree with Streetfreakmustang on the reality of SoCal pay vs living expenses. Real estate is insane there. I don't think you could pay me enough to live in any of those huge communities. I am too much of a redneck.

Cyclopsblown 34.You keep referring to the "Ricers" The one guy with the Stage 3 kit that was not working owns a Saturn. Last I checked that is an American Car. A GM Car...P.S. Littleman wins hands down

  9. Ok, you got me on that one. I understand it is a GM brand with a GM Ecotec 2.0L 4cyl. He is in my opinion working on it like the kids who I have seen play with rice cars. Put bolt on **** on the outside but do nothing internally. Hell, his air dyno already had him 100hp above factory with a computer program change. I think the real dyno showed the car down from advertised flywheel horsepower with his 100hp programming change. With the huge change the program supposedly made he should have a net wheel HP near the advertised SAE flywheel HP.

Thanks for all the kind words.........I have a little bit of time to answer some of the ponderings..............Jimmy was just messing with me with the t-bucket remark, just as I messed with the fact that he had a lawn mower engine in his car.........all in good spirit and I guess would be a example of how well we got along over the time I was their.......Jimmy does know his cars and he proved that to me while I was working under him.....As for Marks anger, it was real........I helped Mark with his project and I really enjoyed sanding and doing body work on Ritchie's ride....eventhough they did not show me helping them out........Did I care for their cars? It really did not matter, for they were p***ionate about them as I am p***ionate about mine....Mark knew all the specs on all the newer age go fast modern cars, he is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to them and really had alot of problems with them bolt ons... And Richie aspires to be a drifter and knew alot about that aspect of the car world.......They both respected the work I had done to my unfinished project........Did I have fun with them about their rides...Yes...and they had fun with me....Their is alot of corrections I could tell you about that episode, but will have to wait untill its all over..............just remember its a tv show, the last week or so of shooting was stressful for all...........and yes the housing market blew me away.......and one of the things I walked away with from going out their was the fact that I live in a good fair market area.....but lets face it....California is Kool..............Littleman

  12. Awesome to see you on here. Does this mean you will be back to posting progress threads on your projects? I can't wait.

Yes, but at the moment I am doing my best to dial in my garage....I want to organize everything and build some type of ch***is table......My Coupe is still at the So-Cal Speed Shop in Cal. , I really was not given much time to work on the Coupe while out their, but it sure was kool having a hotrod in California the same time I was their, something that I though would never happen, let alone me being their in the hotrod meca of the world....Littleman

I think either Dave won and declined, and is now opening his own shop back home, or tattoo man got the job because Jimmy knew Dave would decline.

Either way, I think from the exposure, dave could open up his own place and do well.

Yeah dave, put some stuff up on Garage Journal....

So if Richie won, is there gonna be a So Cal drift team? :p

  18. tattoo guy Richie at least seems to know what he is doing. The other guy seems to be p***ionate about stuff but has a lot to learn and needs to chill and learn to take instructions.

I'm about half way through this episode on Tivo. It takes me awhile cause I keep stopping it and looking at Jimmy's F-150 with the wheels black instead of the red wheels he had when I was out there. Sorry, my mini-truckin' days popped out there! :D ;)

We've spoken about this, but Littleman still has a job waiting at our shop, anytime he wants it as far as I'm concerned.

I could be wrong....but, I think Dave won the job, and is just tying up lose ends (and waiting for the series to end) in OH before he heads out there. He'll be out there - he would do great working at So-Cal speed shop. Hell, he could be out there now and be messing with us. In addition to that I feel like they could have hired Richie also - because good help is hard to find and he looks like he can do the work also. Just my 2 cents.

Dave- Not asking you to let the cat out of the bag or anything...But, what the heck was Mark so freaked out about? His fuel pressure?
    I didn't understand.

First, let me say that I have not watched the show(on a little late for me). Second, it is obvious that Dave has great talent,(as do a lot of the members of this board) But you know what really impresses me? Mr. Lohr's humility, and the grace in which he posts. He is so humble. He genuinely seems like a nice guy. In this age where a touchdown, or a dunk, brings out a clown dance, reading Littleman's posts are REFRESHING. Thanks, Dave. You are running a positive balance in the respect bank,

That's THE gnome bucket builder to you, buddy!

  26. I wonder how many people that are on here would come across to the general public if they had their own tv show. I would guess that the vast majority of you would come across as a bunch of ***holes, kinda like Mr. James does and Jimmy, and so on. We're not talking about actors, we're talking about real people. I sat and watched all the shows the other day, basically cuz I enjoy car and hot rod related material. I personally think Dave should win, just because his talent and mindset is in the right direction. He appears to live and breathe hot rods and old cars. The other two guys? Well if my kind of car was a Saturn or a Nissan, I wouldn't expect to be working in a big name hot rod shop. I don't know who winds up with the job, but Dave's got my vote.

  27. I don't personally care what anyone does, if you like it then go for it. But what I always question is why do these guys spend so much money and not even go fast? He spent 3 grand on some injectors and and some pulleys or something. Do you know what I could do for 3 grand? I could buy a car (think early 70's GM muscle car), build a drivetrain for it, and be out running 12's in the quarter. Why would someone ever consider spending so much money on a Saturn, and still only run slow as ****?

Whatever happens, Littleman is a RULER! Watching those guys work on the Saturn and the Nissan in SoCal made me crack up. I just couldn't put two and two together on how Jimmy could possibly pick anyone else. Richie is a good fab guy, but c'mon. I know some people have have had it rough, but the "feel sorry for him" vibe got pretty thick. We all have had choices to make, some better than others. I'm sure Dave will be fine whatever happens. He builds killer **** and now everyone knows it. Interested to see how it all turns out.

That meltdown from Mark seemed to come from out of nowhere.
Finding gainful employment after that display is going to be tough!

Littleman...I just watched the show today (thanks TIVO). If the general consensus is true and that you were offered, and turned down, the position because of the housing situation I don't blame you.

I am hoping you'll find time, when the show is over, to do what you promised above and give us some inside scoop on the show - the last episode in particular. I don't care for Mark but that blow-up did seem a bit strange. In any case, since it isn't going to be you, I do hope Ritchie gets the offer over Mark.
