When we got the car together for GNRS I didn't have a chance to make sure the car was right,,,
it was actually way lower in the rear when we put it back together... We had it on the right
setting we had before we re-***embled it... But I guess we misjudged the weight and it
sat allot lower than I wanted... Any hoo,, yesterday I raised the *** up just where I like it..
also after sitting a staring at it (everyday since the show)... I noticed the grille was leaning back about an inch or two away from Rat Rod status...so I made that adjustment and Wow what a difference those 2 things did.. its hard to see it in the pictures.. but its got a bit of an at***ude...

    perfect

Then I got a hair up my *** to put my Slicks on..just for kicks..
And I got to say I really don't like how they look... kinda makes it look like a tractor...
but If Cody from Hurst would make those Firestone capped slicks in a 15in. I think that would be the ticket..

still trying to get all the little things done so we can make it to LSR...

  2. I like it w/o the slicks too! And, with some rake...

For ****s and grins... jack the back up with a floor jack another couple-few inches for a snap shot... when that wheel arch matches the tire it just screams HOT ROD!

Lastly... it's so refreshing to see a hot rod of that style PAINTED!

    You rock!

    Sam.

  3. the car is *****in.. excellent workmanship man..

    Thanks Sam!!...

the problem with raising the back the high is the frame looks "Broken" with the sweep..
this is about as hi it can go with out adding stuff... But I do have plans for a Drag weekend conversion option in the future..

that being said.. I don't like the looks of these slicks that I have...

But I really think these Would RULE!!!!! I need to make some 16 inch wheels...so yes for now Bias..

I'd lose the slicks or at least put something different on the front if you keep them.

I like it a lot more with the slicks. The wide whitewalls look a little odd...the car is right out of the '60's but the tires feel more like the '50's.

I have to disagree,,, My car is pretty much 1958 and WW were still kickin.. the slicks
would date it a bit later...but It tends to lean towards late 50 than early 60's ..does that make sense??? I don't know,,,

I think maybe the slicks are whats making me see it as a later style...

Either way, the car looks good. :D

  14. I love pie crusts! BUT, I think it looks better with the bias also. Pitch the slicks. Oh, the car is *****in'.

I like the bias plys too, but the slicks on the rear 3/4 shot look great. Are your wheels 15's? If so are the rear tires a 8.20/15?

I really like those new 16" hurst cheaters, I'm eying those for my rpu too

    My God, that is beautiful.

The color just seems perfect for the chome/WWW combo, but I definitely don't think the slicks take away from that at all.

It's like a businessman who takes off his dress shoes and put on boots. Still has lots of cl***, but sometimes there's hard work to be done

I gotta say I have followed this build, an it's by far my favorite car.
I mean you have a great car, this car inspires me everytime I see it to keep improving my own.

Evel, great job... The pipes, color, chrome and tires make this ride a real Live Wire..

    from nowhere...

    I just went through this...
I'm putting my street tires back on, I like the pie-crusts on the right car, they cost a bundle, and I had wanted to run them, but, after having them on there for 6 mos. or so of indecision...I have decided against them...
They don't suit the rest of my car, in my case, I think because other than the slicks, mine has a very "street" appearance ( it ain't overly nice, but it does not look like a dedicated drag car anyway ). Your car is WAY clean, I think the slicks actually look better on a more "primitive" stripped car.
I also think that the smaller white wall out back does not accentuate the bigs and littles, another reason I am going back to my WWW street tires out back.

Strange place that...wherever you come from. Seems they don't speak the English language. According to the Oxford dictionary:

STANCE: at***ude or position of the body, esp when hitting a ball, preparing to box, etc.

So in my interpretation that refers to how someone or something stands, however that may be.

RAKE: set or be set at a sloping angle.

That would refer to being, for example, higher in the back than in the front.

Stance is how a car sits. Rake is when one end is higher than the other. Sorry to be pedantic but when someone makes a big statement in capitals, they need to be right. ;)

Evel, sorry to hijack your post. I only got on here because I love that car. I like the stance even without any rake.
