dont think i can say more then this picture does lol. met a ton of extreemly nice/great people. marcy, plowboy all the flyright guys very top notch and very much looking foward to seeing you all again. more after i get some sleep tim
Does this mean you made it home safe? Figure out the brake issues after all the other ****? Really nice meeting you and the ****ons turned out awesome. I'm impressed that people came out even though it was thunderstorms in the morning and rained throught the day.... and no-one seemed to have a bad at***ude about it at all. Some really impressive cars----makes me wonder what it would have been like had it been sunny! Lot's of pictures later in the week when I get back. Thanks to everyone that came out! Marcy
we need some one to post some pics. I am glad that Tim made it through the flathead adventures ok. The Road Burners had a great time and Bob even came away with a very difficult to use set of wrenchs. I am sure they thought he would need the wrench set to keep his banger powered A roadster running. jeff
We thrashed on Tim's ford until it would hold water, hold a charge but wouldn't hold a firm brake pedal. Ok, it wouldn't hold a charge either but we slapped a new battery in it to get him home on a full charge. The lack of a good, solid brake pedal meant he left the car in Omaha and caught a ride back to Lincoln. Tim had his dimutive little lady with him and didn't want to chance a brake-less car crash with her in the car. Good decision, Tim. Like Tim said....it was great to see the Flyrite motorsickle guys, Marcy, Marty, Mc Phail, Whiskey and a host of other HAMBers both local and from Texas. Great Tatoo party. Wish I'd brought my camera. One of the highlites was seeing my old lakes modified I made from my brother's cast-off 31 chevy pickup cab, several feet of 2X3 tubing, underslung suspension and an old chevy 6 with a T-5 ******. I thought the project had been s****ped 15 years ago but found it driving around the parking lot! I was blown away..totally blown away. I hope somebody took a photo of it and posts it here. BTW, Tim...yesterday afternoon I got the little flathead in the rambler humming sweetly again with a some carb work...runs smooth as silk again.
That little modified made it to Beatrice , Ne. last year for the Roadburners "Rockabilly Road Tour". cool to here about it's history. jeff
yup made it home in exactly the way rocky stated i stashed the car and had some one come pick us up. but i CAN NOT tell you how happy i was to have broke down in THAT parking lot. i heard "god bless the hamb" more then once let me tell ya. had i broked down anywere else id probably still be there. working friday night i turned around and there were at least 5 other hambers helping lend a hand and trouble shoot, all but one of them i had never met before and i dont think were even at the livefast convention that day. i broke and evedently must have sent off a hamb bat single of sorts and they just showed up parts in hand before i even knew what parts i needed lol. after crashing at rockys and dashing over in the morning with a new battery i started wrenching again and to my surprise evenmore hambers showed up. i tell ya a livefast convention is a great place to look for car help. it may have been raining but that caused two things to happen. 1) only the cars i would have wanted to see showed up and 2) people that drive there cars in all weather know how to fix there cars so i think almost every one there in the lot came over at least once if not for a good half hour or more to give me a hand literaly or just helping with ch***ing gremlins. i cant tell you how much that ment to me, i was supposed to leave friday night and i missed a ton of appointments saturday but having 30 plus people go out of there way to help me, well thats realy somethin. as rocky said my brakes were spooking me so we left the car BUT with the help of the ingenious hellraiser im preety sure i have the fixes to ALL of my problems figure out ............i am however looking for a cheap to free workign ford 12 volt gen. all that mushy ness aside heres some pix a *****en roadburner banger powered roadster a NASTEY sounding ford new favorite tri 5 ever! hitting lightspeed inthe rocky merican' its livefast how am i not going to post a pic of a tattoo? mcphail on a flyright bike random shot of the inside. lol now that i look at the pix it looks like that entire half of the lot is all hamb guys thanx again tim
oh and on the 20 or so minute drive into omaha the car ran great all the way up to freeway traffic speeds and was just fine. this shouldnt be anything i cant fix with a bunch of elbow grease and possibly a new 12 volt gen. just have to look some more stuff up and trouble shoot for a couple more hours but i think its getting closer. tim
I think I'm going to get a wiper arm and wiper for next year. But the ride was worth it, just to listen to the RumbleJetts. See ya all down in Beatrice the 19th, or you might see me on the the road somewhere. Damn glad I changed out my pumkin to 3.00 gears, I made it all the way home this time, without making 3 gas stops. Tim, I'll get ya going probably Friday. That'll give me time too to look thru my stash here at home for parts.
regardless of your car trouble its cool to see your RIDE rolling around the country side... that RULES TIM. If you need anything let me know- Thanks for the pics- Marcy RULES. Tuck
I don't have any more pic's and I don't think Dan is a hamb'r. He is from Omaha and it is a beautiful car. It will soon have a full blown feature in The Rodders Journal as Steve ****an was out a couple months ago for a 2 day photo shoot. Dan built this car in his garage from the ground up including paint and with the help of his dad upholstery. Gary
Hey Dallas thanks for coming up and making the short cruise from Omaha with us. We had a great time the Rumbljetts were incredible as usual and ended up partying with us till about 1 AM. Even had a little jam session with them and our own Hot Rod Otis. What a great day. Hats off to Marcy the RJ's and all the other other bands. Hell my son even got his first tatoo. Hope you make us a stop on next years tour !! Gary
Whats going on in Beatrice the 19th? Its my home town of long ago, my have to go for a road trip. Thanks
Roadburners 2nd Hotrod cruise and rock-a-billy show. Check out www.karlscustom.com for more info. Gary
Danny Olsen's car...built it from a fairly nice stocker. I have a few photos of it. Runs a SBF with an automatic. He did a really nice job on it. I can't wait 'till Dan starts on his 32 ford 5 window project. It'll be a flathead powered, traditional ride. Dan is the guy who laid-out and painted the flames on my old 41 Pontiac coupe..
How about www.karlskustom.com/roadburners/rbcruise Shoot, and I don't even belong to you guys, and I know where you're going!!!!
thats a preety good pick of rocky making me a new thermostate housing gasket out of a thick livefast flyer
I had a great time. I finally got home around 2 in the morning Sunday night. Met some new folks and got a really bad hangover on Sunday. Matt and I took the speedy Bill tour on Friday afternoon. That man has way too much stuff. Ha Ha Ha The Speed Kings of Omaha were cool, and found out how uncool I really am. Ha Ha Ha
Security was a little lax at the show, someone allowed these hooligans to steal my car and engage in a little tomfoolery in the parking lot. When I asked them what they thought, they said that they couldn't believe how smooth it drove, so I guess I did O.K. on my ch***is. Ha Ha Ha Jason, maybe next time I won't be all hung over and can take one of your bikes for spin. Good times! Thanks to Marcy and Smitty for the hospitality, and for Matt, Whiskey, and Noel for putting up with my goofy *** and carting me around all weekend.
Plow boy it was no problem we had a great time having you here. Thanks for the shirt can't wait to hook up at the drags.
