I was hoping to meet her at the GNRS, I must have missed her :(

I haven't watched the show much but I've liked what I have seen. Nothing like that in Ohio, that's for sure!

I'll keep my eyes open for the GNRS episode, there were definitely some sweet lowriders there!

  2. I doubt I will make it over, but if I do, the rock won't be the only hard thing.:D

I saw what looked like Bobs hood, and there was a shot of me cruising through a parking lot! I was kinda surprised by that. Regardless of what you guys say I know that if she came up too you all hot and bothered none of you guys would think twice about hitting it. (except maybe you married ones!)

  7. I personally like the show, its light and entertaining. Its primarily geared to appeal to people who like cars but dont know much about them. Im sure the OG lowrider guys laugh about phrases and acuracy from past shows as well. One thing last nights show does indicate is the influence traditional cars are having on the industry as a whole.

Gotta love a girl with curves.

  10. To me the show isn't that bad and it's cool when they show the craftsmen that do the engraving, painting, interiors, etc...whether you like the style you gotta admire the talent...it's cool that is shows that carguys/people are a community and we help each other out and hang together too which is cool and Vida is the perfect host for that show...I don't quite get having A.J. from Overhaulin' do the voiceover/narration

  11. Because AJ sounds better than she looks......even more so next to Vida

I haven't read past the first page, but I saw this so figured I could at least try to jump in here....

I do indeed work for SPEED, and although I work on our NASCAR shows, I, like many other people at SPEED, love many different kinds of cars and am a motorsports enthusiast. Wether it's bikes, rods, customs, classics, whatever... I like them.

I do know they pay attention to feedback, but you should know that many of the shows on our network are produced out of house.

That means that this show, like My Classic Car, Hot Rod TV, Two Guys Garage, etc are all done by different production companies and then brought to us to air.

I remember when Unique Whips was taking off and we caught lots of flack from some people on how it was basically a rims and stereo shop with a tv show. In the end, people watched it for what it was, educational, entertainment, whatever.

There are lots of shows I hope to make happen in the coming years, and one that features the kind of cars so many of us on the board make is certainly one.

I do think it's important to mention that marketability is important to networks across the board, so they might be less concerned with content in some aspects if they think someone will tune in to see Vida or someone like that. I'm certainly not saying that's the case here, but just mentioning that sometimes, sponsorship dictates production more than passion for certain sides of an industry.

But what I can tell you is to be encouraged to make a pilot yourself that shows the framework of a show you want to see and send it in to SPEED. We're always on the lookout for new shows, and who would be better to make them than people that love cars.

This is lots of jabber and I don't know if it gets anywhere near what you're after, but just know we try to pay attention to what people want and deliver that to the best of our ability. Without the people that watch SPEED religiously, people like me would be doing something far different. SPEED is for the people, and by the people. So get out there, make a pilot, and lets get that bad boy on TV !

A lot of these shows gloss over stuff, some better then others. All in all, I enjoy watching the show, gives you another perspective of cars. ............. as far as Vida goes? I think she's way hot, love the curves, in fact, my wife wonders why she gets "lucky" on the nights the show airs ! go figure (LOL)

is that the episode where she got her tat fixed? I did see some nice customs in there. nice flame jobs too. Nothing wrong with a well done lowrider. just another strain of the hot rod virus. some of them aren't so good but some are killer stuff. when she took her top loose to get the tat fixed, I thought the poor guys eyes were going to pop out of his head. I wonder if she gave a little show they couldn't show on tv? she was a playboy bunny of course. just saw that episode today.

I can say the show has opened doors and respect from old timers for lowriders. I took my 48 Buick to a small out of town hot rod show. I took the stock hubcaps & fat whites off and put my other set of wire wheels on. A bunch of old timers, cats from Canada and rodders stopped and talked to me for hours.(which they never did before) They said that they never realized how much time and effort lowriders spent on getting a bomb back to or better than original. They said they were tired of seeing purple, orange and green rods and appreciate the old school.

And I don't like Vida. One, they should have a west coast girl since the show features west coast lowriders. Two, they need a host who knows about cars, lives the lifestyle.
