Get the government to fly you to Lexington, I'll pick you up there, we'll go do the tour of the automotive factory we discussed, then we'll kick back a couple of days, and I'll drive your ass back to the airport :D

57 Fargo, How much more got damaged then the grille, a little sheet metal, & probably the radiator?
I'd over look the deer damage if I could see the rest of the truck, and to meet you. Just sayin.

We are planning on putting nearly 1,000 miles on my 49 between now and the day before we leave here for Lloydsfest, but as long as my wife and I are able, we will be there one way or another (but we don't need a passport and we are already more then 1/2 way closer then you are).

Same with Anthony! If the ride can't make it, come without the ride.

Absolutely!!! This is about the people just as much as the cars! I couldn't have said it better Gene. A competition of the best hot rod story or the fastest car you ever drove. Just a good time with other guys that bleed the same blood as you! Except @alanp561 because he bleeds that blue crap :p

  7. Actually not a ton, if I pulled the grill piece out and yanked on the sheetmetal a little I could probably make it presentable, it broke the rad core and tanks off the mounts that are soldered on, and bent the fan. I’ll have a better look when I get a chance, it’s home but still on my trailer. I’m moving my daughter to college tomorrow, I should keep my build thread updated with this instead of taking over Lloyd’s!:)

Before I left to come into the firehouse tonight I told her that Lane hit a deer in his pickup, first thing she said was "is that the truck with the white seats?" She's heartless man lol

  11. A LITTLE Bambi??? You kilt a LITTLE Bambi???? Damned hoodlums got no respect for the poor little things.
Road kill is not too bad around here, but when we lived in Wisconsin you couldn't go more than 5 miles on the interstate without seeing a deer carcass.

And an open Doe season as well but the uniformed would rather let deer starve to death in PA than kill Bambi's mom.

  15. Let me tell you, they are not starving to death. And PA. has the 2nd largest Army every fall and winter in the woods to kill Bambi's mom and dad. I ride motorcycle to work every day weather permits, and see multiple deer each night on my way home. The sad thing for me is when I see Bambi, spots and all, laying on the side of the road because people cant slow down. I have had to ride between mom and Bambi and avoid hitting them going around a curve. Thank God I was aware they cross there and was going slow for that reason. Oh yeah I like venison too.

For 16 years, we lived out in the country, about 3/4 mile down a narrow, nasty, gravel road. There was a herd of at least 20 deer that roamed the area, even with avid hunters around 2x a year. We had deer run into the side of our car a few times. My daughter was the only one in the family of 4 drivers that managed to hit one, and that was more of a glancing blow, didn't damage the car much at all and the deer got up and ran off.

My son hit one on the highway a few years ago, that one almost totaled his 5 year old car. Had a buddy that hit one while he was plowing snow one early morning. The was traveling from one plow job to the next when the deer ran out in front of him. Didn't hurt the plow truck at all. they called it in, and he prepped it for butcher right along the road where he hit it. One of the other guys swung by and helped him load it into the back of the plow truck. knowing the guy, I'm not so sure that one was an accident though.

Given the number of miles I've driven, I've been pretty lucky.

Just now saw this. I'll donate the dash plaques. Send me that artwork from the shirts and I'll make sure it matches.

  19. After much thought and deliberation we have decided to pull the plug on the trip, after the deer incident my wife’s passport renewal was returned due to some bullshit error so no chance she will be able to go at this point.

I readily admit I’m not a man of faith but between nature, the Canadian government and other scenarios I can’t help but think someone or something is trying to tell me to stay home.

Yeah he definitely would've won something for the farthest traveled lol. Hard to make things happen sometimes. Then the bad luck shit steps up and kicks you in the nut sack. This isn't the end, I'm already thinking about next year ;)
