    Bummer; bummer; bummer.

I just found out that Clarence will NOT be at Lloydfest. I was hoping, but it just ain't happenin'. Current date for finish/pick up is now November.

That said; Sherry and I WILL be there, although in a late model. Clarence is on for next year though.

Too bad you're not going to be there. Just spent 6 days in the hospital with pretty much the same thing. I am now a perfect A-hole. We could have compared notes AND pictures ;)

I put it on the post in the events section, but if you're gonna be in the area on Thursday the 5th, let me know. @Bill's Auto Works is coming in on the 5th, and we're gonna get together at my house to grill steaks.

I put a new carrier and 3:36 gears.changed up from the 2:57 "lakes" gears i been running and burning up clutch/flywheel/pressure plates for years. My first try at this, went kinda so-so but ok i think. Iwent to put the axles back in and am having trouble getting the outer axle bearing on one to go in the hole correctly .Im outta steam tonight, gonna try again in the am. Hoping i can get her all together and test before Thursday!

You have balls! It takes me a loooong weekend to set up a rear when it’s out of the vehicle on stands.
Not a darn chance I’d abuse myself with one under the car!

Hahahaha! The first one I did by myself was a Dana 44 I picked up to swap into a PU I had. So armed with shims, bearings, etc..and a Motors manual with the rear on stands on the shop, I bet it took me 3 full weekends to get it done.
But now I have “experience”. The next one didn’t get done any sooner. After another few, I did a 9inch. “Wow, this is gonna get done today”. Killed that weekend too.
Going to keep my paying job;) lol

In my younger days, I would just go to one of 4 local junk yards and pickup a rear end with the gears I wanted already installed. The swap only took a few hours.

Then as I got older, instead of going to a junk yard, I would just buy the whole car off the street, pull what I wanted, and junk the car. That was cheaper then getting the parts from the junk yard, but then I had to watch for the car that had the gears I was looking for, finding that could take a while. After a few years of doing that, I would just go to my collection to get what I needed.

These days, I no longer have the parts or the cars sitting around, most cars on the road no longer have many useful parts, and the only salvage yard in the area doesn't like to sell many parts. I never did learn how to change rear end gears.

These days, I solved this problem by not changing rear end gears. I do pay much better attention as to what gears are in the rear end while I'm building the stuff now.

Don't have much laying around here anymore (building or rebuilding 6 hot rods in 10 years, then the following property clean up, will cause that).
I'll see if I can find anything HAMB related to drag along, but don't expect much.
