Event Coverage Lloydfest 2023 is in the books

I just got back to the shop from talking to Tim. He's an awesome cat, he's excited and looking forward to this. He said we'll go even bigger next year. If you're coming, try to get me your address by sending me a conversation so that I can send you a pass to get you in the gate free. It's not detrimental, but it'll make it easier. The area we're using at the track is pretty close to the tower, and it has bathrooms and showers on the ground floor.

Used to love going to the track in Ashcroft BC for the delicious crappy burgers!

 

But the ride I'm driving to Lloydsfest doesn't look like the ride in my Avtar. Heck, even the car in my Avtar doesn't look much like the car in my Avtar anymore..

That picture and name tag that was referenced is going to be your Avtar picture, and your HAMB handle, right? 29phonebooth should be good with the name tags, Witness Protection won't care about your Avtar nor your HAMB handle, unless you tell people what your real name is. You just got to hide from all the cameras that will be there all weekend.

Food truck or track food? Probably depends on how good the track food is, some is OK, some is great, some we are better off not eating. Can the track keep up with 100 extra people wanting food at the same time? I'm all for supporting the track, but if he gets a cut off the food trucks, more choices is good.

We hope to be arriving sometime Friday afternoon and plan on being there all weekend, but we ain't going to be sleeping there. Sleeping quarters are about 45 minutes away, so party time may be shortened. When does the party start on Sat morning?

Is the poker run on Sat still in the plans?

Yeah gates open Friday at 5. I'm off all week leading up, so if anybody is in town early we'll get together, maybe cook out at my place. I'm gonna talk to him more about Sutherland's BBQ truck, if I have to pay the track to let him in I will. But we'll see. My union makes damn good corndogs, we use Johnsonville brats, even do the spicy jalapeño brat corndog. Good stuff, and yes the tracks food is pretty damn good, I go over there just to eat sometimes. My buddy from the firehouse still might bring his smoker, still up in the air.

 

I think its the law or maybe just a rule but firefighters have to be good cooks as well as firefighters.

 

My Buddy Nick the Paramedic is a damn fine cook!

My counter only shows 51 people. So yeah I don't see it being any problem, they keep up just fine on a busy event like when street outlaws or gassers run, so I doubt this is gonna be any different.

Oh I'm tickled to damn death with that! I'm gonna let it run a couple more weeks, then I'm gonna use those numbers to base everything from. I'm not so much concerned about how many show up as I am making sure that everybody has fun. I don't want anybody thinking I'm boring

I feel like Chuck looks lol. Yesterday was 54, me and @427 sleeper share the same birthday worked my guts out yesterday and so far today, still gotta change an axle shaft in a late model pickup before I quit. I'm tired lol

I'm way behind here. I posted 4 of us are coming and truthfully I'm good with just about anything. Food truck, concessions, whatever works. A band or not, I don't really care.

I'll be bringing my car (on a rollback so suck it haters LOL). I have slicks, no wipers and 6-7 mpg and it's not comfortable for 4 people that many miles.

I'm happy to pay the track fee's even though I will win nothing.

 

Getting much closer! I'm gonna hit up a couple more sponsors next week to get a couple more things to give away, then I'll go to the shirt guy. @John B i need a price on some dash plaques, the same style you had at hoodlums, black with gold LLOYDFEST 2023, make em to suit you. Probably 50 plaques. Still buttoning up some other things, and I'll mail out passes about the 2nd week of September!

I'm being stupid. Why send out something to get you in the gate? What if somebody doesn't get it in the mail, or after I send something out to everybody, 10 more people tell me they will be there? I'm going over to the drag strip Friday night, I'm gonna tell him that our people will tell the person at the gate that you are with the HAMB group. They'll direct you to our spot. Then we can put a designated sticker on our cars. Lloydfest 2023, tree saving and simplifying at its best

Yes sir, I think that i was over thinking it. So if you're coming, and I hope you are, just tell them at the gate that you're here for Lloydfest. I'm basing everything off of the survey at the top. So far it shows 51 people. I'm gonna plan on 100.
